My family is mostly Scandinavian. We have our own traditions that we grew up with that are kind of the same across the board. One practice I've known my whole life is we eat a lot of fish. This is how people get by in colder countries. They'd fish during the warm weather and preserve the fish for eating during the winter. You build a big outdoor buiding to dry fish in. You can pickle it and smoke it, and yes, we make lutefisk, fish soaked in lye until it's like jelly. It's so good with lefsa, mashed potatoes and butter, but it's an acquired taste. ;) We are most crazy about Christmas, and it really is like a Christmas movie. We have traditionsal treats as well, called julekaker. My favorite is rumkake is like a waffle cone, you dust with powdered sugar. I bake a loaf of julekaga (Christmas bread) every year for my Dad, and Dad smokes us all Christmas fish, just like my Grandpa used to. :)

We eat weird stuff like deep-fried butter, Twinkies, and hot dogs. We like watching people beat each other up over a ball (football). We also pay MORE than what the shelves in the stores say because *taxes* hehe
