Ooooooh what are these????? They’re BEAUTIFUL <3
@YourCaringConfidant I can feel the heartburn already! 😂

Corn???
@jesusredeemedme2425 You got it. Elotes 😋, yummy!
What’s on it? Or typically on it??
@jesusredeemedme2425 Mayo, cheese, and chili powder. 😋 Need lime juice and cilantro too. (Google says Cotija cheese for it.)
@YourCaringConfidant Mayonnaise? On corn?
Don’t knock it til you try it. I’ve tried it… it’s yummy <3
@jesusredeemedme2425 Nope not knocking it at all, it just sounded a little weird, putting mayo on corn 😅 I'll have to try it this summer when it's in season
Mayo is relatively flavorless compared to other foods, so it actually pairs well better than it sounds lol
@jesusredeemedme2425 That's a good point. I'll have to be open minded about it 😅

Chiles en nogada are meat stuffed poblano chiles bathed in nogada, a walnut cream sauce and garnished with pomegranate seeds and parsley.
It is a festive dish typically served in the month of September to celebrate Independence Day because the colors of the dish are said to resemble the colors of the Mexican flag, green, white and red.

Sopa de fideo, I eat this like almost every day or enchiladas
@loyalPerson332 I love enchiladas. I was wondering what Sopa de fideo is as well.
It has thin, broken noodles (fideos) toasted in oil and then simmered in a flavorful tomato-based broth. You can put potatoes in it, I like to put a little lime and cilantro, maybe some avocado, you can put a lot of different stuff. It's still really good plain tho. It's super, cheap, fast, and easy to make.

Chicken Quesadilla
Chicken Quesadilla recipe originated in Mexico. With Mexican people migrating to California and Texas, Mexican recipes began to get introduced to the American people. This recipe consists of tortilla wraps filled with shredded mexican cheese and chicken pieces. The wraps are heated until cheese is hot and melted, then served with salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Nacho chips with salsa and nacho cheese dip are often served with quesadillas. Delicious
@sabeyesofblue3535 These are great!

I'm Mexican and Cuban and honestly I hate my culture's food I thinks it's really nasty like langa???
(Tounge,)pig and cow intestines, testicles barbcowa????? Just nasty in my opinion but to each there own my grandma lovvvvvveees it I hate it
I tried lengua when a friend wanted me to, and it’s actually good! And it doesn’t feel like tongue at all. It’s just like shredded up meat.
What are the last two?
@jesusredeemedme2425
babecowa is just what we call it all the ones I name are apart of it and cow and pig intestines are just what it sounds like
@tryinglittleaudrey I have never had this that I know of. I like Hispanic foods like beans and rice that are meatless and of course tortillas!
Next time you go to a Mexican restaurant and get a quesadilla or burrito, etc, order it with lengua. Just trust me. It doesn’t feel or taste remotely like it sounds! <3
My other side of my family has Mexican roots but I have not gotten to meet them as I'm across the country from them. But I love making street tacos and experimenting with foods from there. And I also study Spanish extensively as a way to get in touch with my roots as half indigenous Mexican
I actually was interested in culture ever since being immersed in the Mexican culture of my in-laws when I was young. They are TexMex I would guess. I remember that tortillas were used in place of utensils to pick up the rice and beans by tearing a piece of tortilla. I’m not sure if this is true for all Mexicans, but that is how they did it. The tortillas were soooo good. (Made from scratch of course!). I believe it was a labor of love. They love a celebration and piñatas are fun!
