What are fossils? Fossils are the remains of any living thing that has been compressed into sedimentary rock, displaying a figure from years of weathering and erosion! 
Why are fossils important? Fossils are important, because not only do they provide history from living things from the past, but they also serve as a source of energy known as "fossil fuel".
