Recovery from porn addiction
Hello everybody
I'm new here, I want to overcome porn addiction it's been almost 7 years I'm trying without success. Who else suffering from porn addiction and masturbation? Please help me I'm about to lose my life😥.
It won't go away at once. Take small steps. Bring it down gradually. Engage in other activities (like exercise) that keep you healthy. If you have a spiritual side ill say resort to prayer because sometimes things may seem not to be in our control and placing them in charge of a higher power we believe in takes that pressure off us and the trust allows the divine power to remove our demons. In my faith, fasting is even suggested to get control over too much sexual desire because staying without food for long lessens bodily energy. I hope this helps.
Why you lose ur life for seeing porn that doesn't hurt anyone
@elira89
What if it's hurting themselves
Does something have to be harmful to others for us to decide to get rid of it?
We all know well how addiction destroy us, whether it's porn addiction or any other kind of addiction?!
Just don't lose hope. U can do it. Stay busy. don't stay at home. If u r not working then Go to library for whole day. Sit there. Try to gain new skill. Read ur fav book there. Don't watch movies that have vulgar scenes. Do pranayam daily ..starts from 5 minutes. So running or any workout if possible for at least 20 min.
When u r at home..don't stay alone. Stay with somebody. At night keep ur phone outside ur room. If u want to use phone then use it in somebody presence. Stay away from triggers. Try to avoid to stare girls. if u got replaced then don't regret don't be ashamed..the main thing is u r trying to get out of it. Restart again I know u can do it. U r son of almighty God. U CAN DO EVERYTHING u want. Stay hard. Stay man.

honestly, the best way is to go to a sexologist or addiction expert and get help.

Hey!
I know how you feel. I know it must be very hard to deal with this. Porn addiction isn’t talked about as much as other kinds of addictions. It's still such a taboo. But you know what? You are not your addiction. Your addiction doesn’t define you or what kind of person you are. I know it’s hard and frustrating, especially when you’ve been trying to stop for so long. But the fact that you haven’t given up shows how strong your will is. It’s not easy, and unfortunately, it never will be. But don’t be too hard on yourself. Setting realistic goals is really important.
And one thing to always remember: relapses happen, and they’re part of the process.
Feel free to talk to someone here about it, and if you feel like you need more support, there are professionals who can help you best.
You’re not alone in this❤️🫂
@philosophicalBike7686 I have some trouble with that too because I use it to 'hide' when I'm feeling anxious or fearful
@philosophicalBike7686 thank you for your honesty 😊 It's important to note that sometimes porn starts off light and harmless, we are all adults and it is natural and can be quite enjoyable when shared, but the problem becomes when we are only getting temporary pleasure, we watch it for longer and it becomes less gratifying and more graphic and creates unrealistic expectations. It keeps us alone and feeling grubby because it is addictive and the unhealthy part is when it detatches us from company, reality and real emotions. I would start by watching less daily, gradually getting it to a controllable level, filling your day with exercise, hobbies and people and not hiding away, wishing you the best 🥰
@philosophicalBike7686 the very concept of p*rn sucks like h*ll, I hate it, I have never watched it and am disgusted by it. Anyway..sorry for you and hope you get help soon.
Hi, I also have this addiction. I’ve been trying to overcome it since 2015, but I haven’t succeeded so far. Although, I’ve read on forums that some people have managed to beat it.
