@SHEAINTGOTNOSHOES

Latte in the way you're translating it is not French, it is an Italian word. Although it's used in French, it's just like how "cul-de-sac" exists in english despite not being an english word.
Latte is a type of coffee. It's made with 1/3 espresso and 2/3 steamed milk. In Italy, it doesn't have foamed mil on tope ; outside italy, it's commoned to have 5mm of foamed milk. It is often mistaken for a Cappuccino. The latter contains less steamed milk and the foamed milk atop is much thicker.

Latte has a French translation. The italian word means "café au lait", which would litterally translate in English as "milk coffee".
Latte is used in English more frequently than it is in French, too, as people in english-speaking contries would rather order for a "Caffé Latte" than a milk coffee. In France, it's more common for non-italian speakers to order for "café au lait" instead of a "caffé latte".

Milk in French is said "lait"

Latte does exist in French but with other meanings. It can mean "lath" or "slat", it can also describe a specific part of a surfboard, it was an old-fashion way to say "ruler" in French (unused and forgotten these days) and it's also a type of old type of sword, mostly used between the XVII and XIXè century.

The French word for milk is lait, not latte. I guess that's the word I know in another language. I also know that the Russian word for bicycle is велосипед (velocipede), and that it's a loanword from French (in French it's vélo).
