Diary of Anne Frank.

That's where I get to see others thought process, I loved her character, she was charged and one could easily feel it just through the scrambled words in the diary.

Most recently The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. WW2 historical fiction about Nazi occupation of France. Ordinary people became evil and others became heroes.

@SkySeaTurtle I can talk for days about The Little Prince. And yesss, a fellow aficionado. I use its morals to reminde me that whats essential is invisible to eye *wink* among its other life principles.

@SkySeaTurtle Second favorite, hmmm, that is a difficult one since I have read a lot of books and could make the case for all of them. I am not picky reader cheeky by any and every standard. At the moment, I would say The Outsiders since that resonated emotionally with me with its depiction of 50s gangs. Recent favorites: Learning to Swear in America, We Are Okay, This One Summer, Every Last Word, and Kingdom of Ash and Briar. But Le Petit Prince will always have its special place for me due to its impact on me.smiley
