I've always loved how the phrase sounded!

"The pen is mightier than the sword"

Literal translation: take the small horse out of the rain
Translation: you can forget about it

"Com ferros matas, com ferros morres".

Roughly translated goes something like this:

"If with iron you kill, with iron you'll die."

This roughly translates "your mouth is your tiger". which means whatever you say will bite you back.
