Crafters Unite: Where there's a wool, there's a way
Are you a crafter? Do you enjoy making things and sharing them? Have people asked you to please stop giving them homemade sweaters and soap for Christmas? If you answered "yes" to any one of those questions, then this is the thread for you!
My craft of choice is knitting and crocheting, but you don't have to do either of those things to participate! If you woodwork, felt, scrapbook, make jewellery, paper mache, origami or do any other form of craft, feel free to share your work with us! I'd love to see what everyone's working on, and possibly encourage others to take up crafting! Even if you don't craft, it's really cool to see what other people are up to!

@AcinonyxThis is such a great idea! I like to think of myself as creative person and I like to give homemade gifts to friends and family.I really like sewing, but I used to make friendship bracelets and gift boxes when I was younger. I might get back to that, it was a really relaxing activity.
Absolutely! Go for it! I'd be super interested to see anything if you do decide to get back into it! I'm abysmal at sewing, but I really admire people that can and do it for fun!
Awesome thread alert! Nyx, I love your creations! Really beautiful, and I can imagine how satisfying they were to knit.I'm sadly somewhattalentless in the craftdepartment, although if I ever do manage to come up with something I'm posting it here for sure. Looking forward to see what everyone else comes up with!
Thanks, Michael! I'm glad you like them! The scarf was so easy and quick to make, I was really surprised! I'm definitely going to be making another one! I'll bet you're not as bad as you think you are, but for sure feel free to post the results of anything you do--but especially so if it's from extreme underwater basket weaving! =D

This is a toy pig I knitted, this is an elephant, and I'm currently working on a rabbit for my sister, because what else is study leave for. But this is my crowning glory, a replica of the hat worn by Jayne from Firefly, modelled here by my unsuspecting stepdad.

You're so talented, @Lyra! Wow! That pig is adorable, and the elephant is an absolute charmer! I'm really impressed with all of your pictures, but especially with your hat model! You can almost see him going, "Look at how cool I look in this hat!" =P

Aww yay, thanks for the tag @Lyra! In the winter I knit, but right now I'm working on a jar of origami stars - I'll post instructions soon :)
Origami stars are definitely a fantastic and deserving craft, @Jadie! I was taught how to make them forever ago, but I've completely forgotten since! I can imagine how fantastic the collection is already!
I'm the kind of crafter who doesn't keep anything for myself--I almost always gift my final products, or make them specifically for someone, as a commission, or with someone in mind. I just have no use for what I make, short and simple!
I made this for a friend of mine in America, and this was a requested birthday present that I made for someone I know! Both were super fun to make, but the bag was much faster and more of a mindless activity. Plus, who doesn't like Harry Potter paraphernelia, right?
Wooow, @Acinonyx that shawl is just beautiful! What I love about it is there's something very organic-looking about it, intricate andbiological, like the cross-section of the root of someamazing plant, blown up under a microscope! It's very you.

Quilting helped my ED recovery. And now years later I would love to get crafting again... Am I the only one who pins heaps of projects on Pinterest but is yet to start any of them...
Hiya, @Pandaxia! Quilting is so awesome! I'm super impressed by anyone that can sew and make beautiful patterns work out so well, especially with colour coordinating (in that regard, I'm pretty awful), so huge kudos for you! You definitely aren't alone with Pintrest and having lots of "I want to do this" bookmarks but not actually doing them! My list is a mile wide and growing every day! =P
I'm not artistic at all but I find craft just helps me feel creative, a good outlet. I've saved a great quilt I'd like to do but it needs a lot of materials. In the meantime I'm going to do a Game Of Thrones cross stitch and send it back home to my partner in Australia.
I highly doubt that! I bet you're artistic down to your bones! Crafting is super awesome for sure, and a really good way to expend energy when you don't really have anything else to do and a good way to relax, calm down and wind down! The quilt sounds awesome, I'm sure it'll turn out really well! Your partner is super lucky to receive a GoT cross stitch! That's so amazing!
I have so many pins on Pinterest like that! Even have a board called 'things I can make with what I've got' as an unsubtle reminder to myself to use the materials i have before I buy more!

Can you see the other things I've added to the album so far? There's a mug cozy for a friend of the family, a cream woolly baby blanket for the Little Hugs project, and a flower garland also donated to a charity fundraiser.

I knit a bit...more of finger knitting instead of with the tools. I was working on a scarf but I gave up on it to do other stuff so it is in standby for ages. However I do other things too like sculpt, DYIbeauty products, jewelries, draw and more. I like doing several cool things in general. I am self taught or sometimes it is talent that needs to be tapped.

@Acinonyx- Thanks. My next attempt was to try to sculpt a lady playing Cello but then I couldn't due to not being in the right frame to concentrate on any sort of hobby. Hopefully when I feel like it I might do so and also finish the other thingsI have put off.
@Flourish, not being in the right frame of mind to craft is pretty common--at least, it affects me, too! I bet the woman with the cello will be amazing whenever you get around to doing it! Super good luck for when that happens!
