Feeling good lately. Been working in support groups. My week was quiet and I worked on a new cleaning habit. I started watching a TV series with my husband so that's a bright side. I had an allergic reaction to dinner, so that's a dark side. This weekend I hope to work on hobbies and deal with some paperwork.

@meremuse

Hi Meremuse!

I am glad you have been feeling good these days.
That's something to celebrate! 🍸🍸🍸

Also that you had a peaceful week.

How interesting that you are developing a new cleaning habit! Cleaning is healing. When we clean in the real world, our minds might also feel a restorative process. Even washing the dishes, done with the right mindset, can have this effect.

How good that you started watching a new TV series with your husband! It's wonderful finding activities to do together, that both enjoy. And a TV series is great for promoting conversation after each episode. Doing things together, and talking both contribute to nourishing your relationship.

Too bad you had that allergic reaction! Such events, besides that they are annoying in themselves, can ruin a lovely dinner, and that is a pity.

I wish you a great weekend enjoying your hobbies!

Thanks again for checking in!!

All the best!

Marcelo.

How have you been feeling these days?

Not great. I've just been very tired because of the weather and the fact that my Modafinil hadn't been refilled in weeks.

How was your week overall?

My week was busy. I forgot about the start of Camp NaNoWriMo so started it today with no plans or outlines.

Which were the brightest moments in your week?

Nothing really. I've just been taking it one day at a time so nothing really stands out.

Which were not-so-bright moments?

Anything to do with issues with my younger sister lately. I try very hard to help her, especially with getting her GED or getting a certificate for nails, but mostly the GED.

All I asked her to do was read a little bit more. To try to read anything she liked just to get into the habit again and she hasn't even bothered. I even looked up where her nearest library is, how to get a library card (either digital and physical), and she doesn't seem willing to do anything.

I understand that it must be harder to make these decisions so soon after our father's death, but it's frustrating to me because I'm putting in a lot of effort when all I want to do is focus on myself and sometimes spend my day doing nothing.

What do you wish to achieve this weekend?

I want to do dishes because making mac and cheese from scratch this week left me with plenty of dishes in addition to everything I'd been ignoring.

I'm also going to write write at least 1613 words on Saturday and Sunday because of Camp NaNo.

Hello, and thank you for checking in!

I am sorry about the recent passing away of your father. I send you all my appreciation to you from here.

Sadness due to grieving can also be an underlying cause of tiredness and of forgetting things, like the start of Camp NaNoWriMo.

I wish you get your anti-tiredness medication soon and it makes you feel energetic again.

Regarding your younger sister, it's very kind and loving that you care so much about her studies certifications, so important for her future in this "knowledge economy" of these days.

I agree that starting to read about anything she likes, even a travel guide for a place she wishes to visit, or a book on fashion and makeup, would be a great way to break the inertia that blocks her ability to study, after some time of not reading anything.

It must be very frustrating that despite all your well-intentioned efforts, she doesn't seem to care about something so important, or at least take some baby steps in that direction.

Trying to influence other people is very frustrating most of the time. And can be very sad if what you try (unsuccessfully) is to help a person you love by promoting a needed change in their behavior.

So it's very commendable of you, lovingly insisting and trying new things despite the frustration, against all odds.

I wish you luck, that your sister finally recognizes the need to take some steps toward achieving her academic certification, and also recognizes the value of all the effort you did to encourage her.

I see you are a very conscientious writer, even with very specific quantitative goals. I wish you that you can complete your Camp NaNoWriMo challenge with much success.

Devoting your weekend to this goal is a very wise choice, making the best use of your precious weekend time in a high-value activity that promotes your growth as a writer.

Congratulations on that!

Keep pounding your PC keyboard!

All the best!

Marcelo.

Focus on you for the moment. Your sister then can see your success and maybe imagine something better for herself. You are a good writer. Now it is time to show the world. @integrityblues

Aw, that was very kind of you to say. I'm just trying to write anything fun, anything to get me out of this creative sinkhole I've been in. I was able to write another 1613 words today, so at least I'm staying on schedule. Fingers crossed that tomorrow doesn't blow up in my face!

@bestVase7265

I don't really have plot, but I've been taking InspiroBot inspirational/motivational quotes (that sometimes fail because all of them are written by an AI) and I like using them as writing prompts to write one 1613 word story a day. Today's quote is "Kittens are neat." My goal is to make the plot as ridiculous as possible.

Yes, I am. I kind of messed up a little yesterday and didn't hit my desired wordcount. But that's okay.

@Mellietronx

Hi Mellie!

Thank you for checking in!

I am sorry you recently had a breakup.

A breakup is always a great loss, even if things were not going well.

Grieving such a loss takes time.

We might go through many contrasting emotions: anger, sadness, loneliness, fear for our future, guilt, and many others.

This is the process of healing from such a loss. It is painful. Takes time Might feel like it will last forever. Can't be rushed.

We have to go through all the emotions that arise, in order to eventually heal, that is, to accept that something very valuable in our lives has been lost forever, and from now on, we are fully capable to develop an emotionally fulfilling life.

Grieving takes a lot of energy, so we might feel exhausted at times.

So devoting intentionally the weekend to just rest, is wise.

Having around you loving people that support you, like your mother, is a blessing in times like this. I am happy for you that you have a loving, supporting mother.

I wish this weekend you get good rest for your body and mind. And that you find some moments of tranquility and inner peace.

Thank you again for checking in!

All the best!

Marcelo

@SynSavory

Hello, Syn!

Thank you for checking in!

I am glad that you have been feeling well these days.

"Intense and relaxing" is an amazing combination. It reminds me of the experience of "flow", doing a lot of intense focused work while keeping a calm state of mind. As you say, "doing the work and not worrying about it".

I am sorry about that dangerous incident while taking the driving test. I hope you get your driver's license soon without any further annoyances.

Healthy work-life balance is a very wise goal, and devoting your weekend to improving it, is a great investment of your precious time. Congratulations on that!

Thank you again, Syn, for participating in this check-in.

All the best!

Marcelo.

Hi everyone, so glad it is the weekend!

  • How have you been feeling these days?

I have been okay, but definitely a little down lately. It can be hard when you feel like no one is there for you, but 7 cups really helps a lot.

  • How was your week overall?

My week was pretty good with a little bit of stress because of school.

  • Which were the brightest moments in your week?

My birthday is tomorrow, so I went out to dinner with some friends to celebrate and that was really fun!

  • Which were not-so-bright moments?

I had to take my biology final which I really wasn't looking forward to.

  • What do you wish to achieve this weekend

I just want to have a nice birthday and enjoy time with my family.

@SparklingSnowflake15

Hello Juliette!

Thank you for checking in!

I am sorry you felt somewhat down these days. It happens. You are right that, in 7 Cups, we are all always here for you!

Regarding stress, this time of the year gets particularly stressful at school, mostly due to the exams, like your Biology final.

In my experience, university years are the most stressful period in life, (save for traumatic events that might happen at any time), and exams are the heart of this.

It can't be helped. The result of all your efforts of a year or a semester is decided in a couple of hours, according to the whims of a professor. A recipe for unavoidable high stress.

But vacations will soon come, you will pat yourself on the back, saying "Well done, Julliette, congratulations!", and then relax...

How nice that tomorrow is your birthday, that you have already celebrated with your friends and you are going to enjoy the company of your family this birthday weekend!

I wish you a very nice celebration tomorrow!

That you celebrate all the wonderful things you have achieved so far.

And foresee the path of flourishing in all aspects of your being that you have been preparing with much effort all your life.

All the best, Julliette!

See you soon!

Marcelo.

Hi, Talk,

  • How have you been feeling these days? So stressed that I was physically ill. I think I got over the hump of a lot of the stressful situations.

  • How was your week overall? stressful

  • Which were the brightest moments in your week? My cat has made amazing gains in her health. Her eyes sparkle again. She jumps and trots around the apartment again. It just warms me to my bone. :)

  • Which were not-so-bright moments? Dealing with the car dealership about my car problems, again.

  • What do you wish to achieve this weekend? I'm working both days. I just wish to actually get myself to work both days. Then I wish to get through the days without any incidents at work.

Hi!

Thank you for checking in!

I am sorry you have been so stressed out these days.

Sometimes many stressful things happen at once and they overwhelm us. It can't be helped.

Hopefully, these stressful situations will begin to wane, and you'll regain soon your peace of mind.

I am glad that our cat is much healthier. Your cat gives you much love and company. It is lovely of you to be so concerned about her health, and get so happy because of her improvement.

What a curse those annoying car dealers! They have become a burden on your wellbeing. In due time this situation will pass and they will remain just an awful memory.

Thank you again for checking in.

I wish you all the best!

See you soon!

Marcelo.
