Check-in for June 27 - Depression Support
Let's reflect on the past weekend and what it told us about our emotional health.
Why? On weekends we have more free time so we can more genuinely express ourselves, and be more aware of where we stand in terms of wellbeing.
Today's check-in questions are:
- How have you been feeling these days?
- How was your weekend, overall?
- Which were your best times this weekend?
- Which were not-so-good times?
- What do you wish to achieve this week?
All questions are optional. You can add any comments you wish, as they come to your mind.
I look forward to your answers!

Hi, Talk,
- How have you been feeling these days? like i was shot multiple times. i'm recovering from an especially stressful time.
- How was your weekend, overall? I worked at my uncomfortable charity job, so it wasn't enjoyable except when I was at home.
- Which were your best times this weekend? the evenings with my cat, Chloe. But she is still recovering from her illness so it is stressful, too. She has shown a lot of improvement this past week, but she is still struggling. That is hard on me. I make sure she gets what she needs to keep helping her improve. It's not easy.
- Which were not-so-good times? Being at work at Goodwill. The management staff allows trouble behavior to continue and I am having to deal with it.
- What do you wish to achieve this week? I'd love to quit my job at goodwill. But since I don't have a new job to replace it, I can't. So, I need to focus on my essays for my grad school application.
All questions are optional. You can add any comments you wis
@purpleTree4652 I am really sorry to hear that you are going through a challenging situation right now, but I really hope it gets better. Stress can be really hard to handle and I am here if you want to talk about it :) Hope you are having an amazing day!
So tell us more about what kinds of essays you are writing for graduate school. You are right to focus on things that move you forward. It can make the job and cat stress just a little easier. What kinds of things are you doing to relax some?@purpleTree4652

Hi, Vase,
Thanks for asking. You're always so good to me.
One essay is to talk about my interest in working in my field, and where I hope to go in the field. The second essay requires me to pick a problem facing my field and offer solutions to that problem. If we could talk privately, I would say what field it is.
To relax, I nap a lot. It is the luxury I find acceptable. It also happens to help me mentally and physically. I have two physical jobs. I spend most of my time outside of work, with my cat, relaxing in bed, listening to and watching asmr videos, watering the 40odd flowering plants I have outside and grooming them. I also take care of chores every day and that gives me a sense that I can relax. I live a quiet, simple life, and I like that.
I like the quiet, simple life too. Napping, plants and kitties sound wonderful. Use those as often as you can.
No need to know your field of interest. It sounds like the prompts are pretty basic ones. I probably would do a little research to answer the problem question. That for me would be the fun part. You get to be creative. @purpleTree4652
@bestVase7265
Thanks, Vase.
How were things today?@purpleTree4652
@bestVase7265
Hi, Vase,
I saw your note asking how things are today, but there is no option to reply to you. I think 7Cups has limited how many back and forth messages people can send each other.
Are you a listener? If so, May I communicate with you that way? You might have to respond to an earlier message of mine to reply.
Actually you just did respond to me. We can keep messages like this going for days. I don't use my listeners account, but if you want something more private, I think that you can message me. @purpleTree4652
@bestVase7265
No, I responded to a previous message from you, just like I'm doing now. There is no option for me to respond to your note saying, "actually you just did..."
Are you using the app or the computer? The computer works a bit better. In addition to the regular "reply" button on the right, there is a small button on the left that says "reply to bestvase" that you can usually hit. @purpleTree4652

- How have you been feeling these days?
- How was your weekend, overall?
- Which were your best times this weekend?
- Which were not-so-good times?
- What do you wish to achieve this week?
I have been feeling numb, empty, useless, and depressed.
My weekend was not good because I had unwanted visitors who made me unhappy.
The best times were when I was walking with my dog.
The not so good times were when my visitors made me uncomfortable and said certain things I did not enjoy.
I really just want to survive the week.
@jamesistired I'm sorry that you're feeling not at your best at the moment. I can relate that visitors can make us uncomfortable with the things that they've said to us. I'm glad that walking with your dog is the best moment for you.
*sending you lots of rays of strength* going through our life can be so hard at times but i'm sure you're trying all your best to survive at the moment. Keep Going. We're here for you anytime. Thank you for sharing with us :)
