What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
How I
@SailingFox
I hate that I can't be who I want to be, and when I try it won't help, I hate how I look, how I act, how I am. I hate how my online presence is more approachable than reality. I hate my deafness, and my scars. I hate how I can't bring myself to say anything because im too afraid. I hate how I don't feel loved, and how im awkward and alone, my weight, my poor time management, my attitude, my issues. Everything 😂
@charmingVase687 I dont know what you might be facing and have gone through, but all the things youve listed are relatable, honestly. Im partially deaf since I was 7 years old; I broke my eardrum while on a flight with my mom and aunt.
And just like you, my online persona is also much more approachable online. In reality, I keep everyone at several arms length coz Ive learned that not everyone will be genuine with you. Everyone wants to use you in some way. I rarely click with anyone irl.
I don't hate anything at me. It took me two decades to accept me as I am and I decided, that it is enough that other people hate me or something about me, I don't have to hate myself. Self-hate doesn't help anybody. That's self-destructive and will not help. Accepting myself helped me to go on and be motivated. Going on with a positive picture about me, helped and changed me more than two decades of self-hate.
I wish I could build my confidence to be like yours. I am very insecure and I dont think highly of myself even though many others tell me how much of a kind and compassionate person I am. I lost the love of my life, and I hate myself all the more. I am very glad to hear that you are able to accept yourself and embrace yourself for who you are. Maybe one day Ill be able to do that too @MAE1701
Dear @WA509HI808,
I was, where you are and it was a long way for me and not easy. But that means, you can get there too. I lost the love of my life 28 years ago. We were not granted one day of married. But I made a very conscious decision. I wanted to live and I wanted to be a blessing for others. I had something to give. And I am sure, you have something to give too. Do not give up. One step a day. You are not alone here. Let's grow together 👍❤
I just want my gf back... I just want to make her happy, have a family, and grow old together like we planned. I wanna see her face when I wake up. I want to give her goodnight kisses. I want to cuddle in bed until the last min that we have to get up. Im in such a dark place and she was the only one that I had to support me. She was the only one that knew me and could comfort me. @MAE1701
@WA509HI808
Loosing the love of your life is one of the most hurtful experiences. Even after 28 years it pains me. The pain will never vanish completely. But there is something that is able to take the sharpe edge from the pain and that is thankfulness. It was the practise of thankfulness that helped me most. Everytime the pain hit me, I thanked God for something my beloved did or was to me. You don't have to be a believer to practise thankfulness. You can write things down into a journal or just tell it to a friend for what you are thankful. In doing so, you concentrate on the positive and that will give you new strengh.
@WA509HI808
i feel the same way. Love of my life broke my heart and he was my best friend and brought me so much comfort for 5 years. Had plans of kids & marriage. Really really hurts! To the point that I got an anxiety disorder. We have to let go & let God. I pray and I hope you get your wish & you can be happy! 💛🙏🏽
@MAE1701
i love this type of mind set. You will succeed in life.
@XxLiaxX
Thank you, but I'm struggling like anyone else. It's one step a day, some days with failures, some days with success. That's the only way to achieve something better.
That my heart has been broken enough that I find myself unintentionally acting relatively mechanical around my friends and in general, as if I am unable to or afraid to show emotion. I hate that I have ended up that way. Nearly every photo of me has me looking way too robotic and it makes me sad.
@lycan9826
Its okay don
Having this speech problem that makes people think I'm stupid and making fun of me and being lonely.
Youll find people that wont make fun of you, or treat you any different. Those are the types of people who actually deserve your time of day. I hope you learn to love yourself regardless and find people that will love you, respect you, and not make you feel anything less than a great person @inventiveChestnut1906
I hate that I was in denial about my mental health issues which made me treat my gf unfairly, causing her to leave me. I
@WA509HI808
you fight for the love of your life! Of course if she doesnt want to hear from you. You have to respect that. But I now how you feel my ex broke my heart but I always fought for him because he was the one. But he got over me.. but at least I fought as much as I could.
That Im unfit and too anxious to exercise, that I cant even make friends online anymore and Im so lonely, that my sleep patterns are awful, that my course is literally killing me, that Im 21 and Ive only ever had one job for a few months I was fired from, that I dont like how I look and always wear the same clothes, that I cant even find the courage to go to interviews and have no money and a lot more
Almost everything! But im probably too shy, no confidence, and too passive.... Oh and my hearts too big.
Relatable @Tigger76rty
Everything
No matter how much potential other people see in me, I will continue to be a failure or self-sabotage myself into failure. That and I really wish I could function normally, but that ain't happening anytime soon so...
My own selfishness and my inability to feel loved by another person. I'm always doubting the love and kill the happiness with my own mind and feelings.
