What do you hate about yourself?

Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.

My mood swings speacially when I'm outside, I hate this pattern I have where I compare myself to other women and I feel worse because I always think I'm the wrong one. Being conscious that I'm so "thin", I had older people saying I'm so thin, so aye I don't tend to have a curvy body type. I have thick tights, wich I been insecure all my life about it since I'm kind of small body type and height. I hate my smile,

I don't tend to show my teeths when I smile since I don't like it. I hate my lack of motivation, I hate my dark shadows under my eyes.

I hate that I can't eat well, Like I'm so messy because I'm so anxious, I can eat less, eat without thinking I'm doing it just automatically and fast, and not tasting what I'm eating, then I can just snak only, eat less in the dinner, then at night hungry attack and snak.

I hate that I can spend hours doing nothing relevant for me in terms of objectives such as simple like doing laundry, or more selfcare, or clean, and instead I can't help but being in my computer and not do much since i lost my track on my healthy path.

I hate that lately I'm not even changing my sleepy clothe if I stay at home and instead I just do it half, but what works for me is wake up and wear something that makes me feel more comfortable with my looks and selfesteem even if I don't go out in the day.

@LifelessDead I know the feeling. Im lazy because all these thoughts keep coming in the way. So many questions. One way is just to accept who you are, and seek the unknown mysteries and gifts about yourself. There is usually always a talent, you just have to seek it.

For me it has always been music, its just so easy. My problem is the lack of motivation due to the depression hindering me to practice.

Life is to short to be unhappy. Even though life is so unfair and you feel like the person with the most unlucky situations. It makes perfect logical sense to be negative about things. But.. Lets say you are 70 or 80 years old, do you want to look back at your life and start regretting why you were so unhappy when you were young? NO!

This is what motivates me to keep doing what i like to do. Even though i fail alot and work hard, espesially forgetting melodies because thoughts come in the way. I work hard.

Use the negative thoughts now as an advantage, use it as a process of healing. Becoming powerful. Start doing the laundry and dishes even you dont want to. When you complete those things, everything feels so much easier and you become happy. The problem is where to start. Just think about what you will achieve. Make it a routine, become the master nobody else is. Be supernatural.

My problem is mostly being uncomfortable in social situations as i have no interest to talk to people about what they are doing. I hate how i look, how i smile. Im a 25

@LifelessDead

More of my problems. Social anxiety, learning disabilities, lack of body language. Slow mental thinking and processing. Anger issues all my life breaking furnitures and so on. Not being able to see problems the ways others see it such as details. I see details in a different way compared to others. I love playing piano as it has many patterns, i can sit for 20 hours straight making maps for games, my own music or classical pieces. Its crazy.

Im just very different compared to everyone else. And i just tell myself that everyone else that think im not good enough to fk off. Simple

I probably have aspbergers.

@SIODRIX thank you for sharing this to me and for your words... Sometimes I don't realize how much I need someone to remain me such things as doing something simple or not doing it can improve my mood. Even if they may seem like rutinary or others take for granted, to me is like a way of selfcare and not neglegecting what I enjoy doing even if it is something small like doing laundry.

I also struggle with social anxiety, so I struggle with going out all the time, I'm painfully shy and self conscious and I overthink too much while being outside, I struggle to concentrate. So much shame and pressure I put on myself... I can get moody. I really can't stand big crowds or places theres lot of people, I get super intrusive and shy and irritated.

Everything! But I guess to be precise, I hate how lazy, unmotivated, sensitive, quick to anger/upset, indulgent in negative behavior such as self harm, my looks, my low intellect, and how my mind is basically made out of poison. I also hate how I tend to tell others how much I hate myself which I know is annoying. I hate how annoying I am. I hate how I always complain. I hate how much of a coward I am. I hate how I worry over pointless things. So.. Even though this self hate I feel may also be pointless, I can't help myself.

I hate being so comfortable with feeling miserable, sad, hopeless -you name it- for most part of my life that I don't want to change for the better. Although it all happens subcontiously, it is still a persistent part of me and I hate it.

I hate the way I look. The massive weight I have gained and the feelings I have when people look at me. I hate that in my professional life I am able to help others but in my own life I cant help myself. I hate that I cant take control of my head, thoughts and heart so I can feel better and good about myself. I hate that I have failed with therapy because I cant open up or trust a total stranger.

@FFMedic117 Ive been there. I was bullied all my life being called fat and ugly. All until my face suddenly like a gift became a handsome guy. Now i get compliments about being attractive. Wow. When i got compliments as being attractive i started to torture myself with the ketogenic diet. My weight went down so much in 4 months of my own diet created in excel, that people didnt recognize me. Im even getting more compliments now. I just guess people that have struggled with something, have a better chance to success. Start to read and discover things nobody else do. I study wierd things because i hate to meet people discussing the same subject and making an argue.

Wish you the best.

When I think about it, only the word "everything" comes to mind. From the way I look, to the way I think. I hate everything about myself.

I hate how I've let myself gain so much weight during these years. I hate myself for being so ugly to everyone's eyes. I hate myself being so undesirable. I hate myself for hating my body even with the rise of body positivity. I just don't get how I would feel confident in a body like this.

I hate how I used to be so positive in the past, even when facing bullying, and now that mask just fell off. I feel sad thinking about it now more than I did before.

I hate being lazy, unmotivated, without a purpose in life. Every day is passing by just like nothing. And I'm here letting it go without knowing what to do.

I hate that I'm have anxiety and being socially awkward

User Profile: 934TXS

A lot of things. (In no particular order)

Myself in general for starters, I don't know why I had to be born in a male body that I don't think fits me.

I hate looking in the mirror because 80% of the time I don't like the person I see. Even after 18 months of HRT and 4 years of growing out my hair, I stare into the glass and see myself as a fake. I hate that I can't just be normal.

I hate that I had a rocky childhood and now I'm overly clingy to people after only knowing them for a short while, as long as they make it passed the first interaction with me they pretty much just have to be nice and I'll be hooked in a week or 2. Sooner if it's someone I'm having sex with. And sooner still if we actually sleep together afterwards

I hate that I have so many trust/anxiety issues.

i hate my big nose. And my chin. And my ears.

i hate that My stomach is a little puffy making me feel fat when I barely weigh 140lbs (HT - 5'10")

I hate that I fell in love with a person who doesn't show me any affection and only ever wanted to sleep with other people while not touching me for months at a time and always saying it's my fault but then making me feel like an awful person when I break down and mess with someone else.

I hate that I can never feel like I'm good enough. Or that I will feel alone even when I'm surrounded by people.

i hate that I can hardly ever sleep at night and sit up by myself with nobody around and always make myself feel awful

i hate that I ruin everything or annoy the few friend(s) I have with my incessant messaging because I'm co-dependent

i hate that I didn't make better choices when I was younger, and not get into trouble during my time in the military. If I had been more in control of how I feel/think I wouldn't have turned to alcohol to cope with everything which caused problems. I could have a house and gone to school for something by now, I'm 30 and have nothing, but I've seen my younger friends get married and buy houses and have met people who have been to college for the same things I always wanted to learn and it makes me feel like I'm worthless.

i think most of all I hate the fact that I still have to wake up and struggle through another day of being a depressed, neurotic, anxious, over sensitive mess that nobody will ever love or care about.

I hate that I disappoint my parents every day. They have raised me and I don't do anything to pay them back. I have no energy and I can't get myself to do things. I love my family but I never feel like being with them. My Dad always tells me he wants to have family time and I'm supposed to come be with them but when I do the only thing I want to do is go back to being alone. That is actually what I always want whatever I do.

Hey turdle, i wish i have some inspiration message or something for you to get over.

Sadly, I am fighting similar thoughts and concerns.

But what i noticed is that alot of messages are self-generated which could have accidentally misaligned our judgements. Others may not see it that way, and on the contary, could be way more concerned for yours (my) well-being

If you find the below message triggering, do skip the content.

----------

I find myself, almost every single moment, critising and self-doubt, while self-blaming myself.

Never once stopping, giving the mind a break. The constant dwelling, asking, questioning just practically hurt myself. Both mentally and physically.

Its just so exhausting until i dont even have any much energy left to do anything other things.

Just to share, my day to day routines only involves, daily exercises (which is not very well performing), self-cooked simple stuffs, groceries, ruminating about all the issues, diet concerns, that's all.

My family kinda understands my situation and tried their best to "support" me. But i kept seeing it as they are trying to "sabotage" my thoughts and wants. Hence when i kept asking for self, alone time, they been trying to give as much personal space as possible. Yet i still see it as they are "fighting" against me.

Although they truly wish to see me be in a better place, try to socialise whenever possible, lead a better life. Better care for self.

But all i want, is just to be alone. Peace and Quiet.
