"Little by little, a little becomes a lot." – Tanzanian Proverb 🌱

Hello everyone,

Welcome to newcomers and returning members of the depression support community. Whether you just joined or are coming back after time away, you belong here. 💚

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. First, I want to sincerely apologize for this late post. This month carries such an important message, and it's one worth sharing no matter the date.

Even as we move further into the month, the focus remains the same: the courage to keep going, the power of small actions, and the hope that tiny joys can still reach us.

This month's prompt:

Create a Dopamine Menu 🍏:

What is a Dopamine Menu?

A Dopamenu is a simple tool to help you boost your mood and motivation. Just like a food menu, it gives you choices. You pick activities based on how much time and energy you have. The goal is to help your brain release dopamine or the "feel-good" chemical, without pressure or perfection.

Blank Template :

Example of Dopamenu 🍈:

How to Use your Dopamine Menu :

Step 1: Print or save the blank template.

Step 2: Fill in each section with your own ideas. Use the example for inspiration.

Step 3: When you feel stuck, pick one thing from your menu. Start with a Starter if you're really low.

Step 4: Do it. No pressure to finish. No guilt if you stop early.

Step 5: Repeat whenever you need a boost.

Feel free to share your Dopamine Menu in the comments!

Sending love and light,

Angelanj

What a great tool, thanks for posting it! For anyone suffering with the challenges of depression lists can be a wonderful way to give ourselves reminders about things when we don't have the mental energy to remember on our own. This Dopamine list is a wonderful example. For people who struggle with thoughts of suicide lists such as reasons for living or a list of things we can use to distract ourselves from those feelings can be very helpful. If we have them handy and make them when we are feeling less muddled, we can take them out when we need them in the moment. Wishing everybody peace and wellness!

Thank you for this beautiful reminder @Angelanj. 💖

The idea of a 'Dopamine Menu' is so gentle and creative especially for days when even getting out of bed feels hard. Little by little really does become a lot. I'm going to try making one for myself this week. Sending love and light to everyone here.
