My doctor has me on a cocktail drugs that is helping with my Anxiety and Depression.

Now that i have gotten to a place where i can think again i want to work on the underlying cause of the Anxiety and Depression i get overwhelmed. This causes the Anxiety to flair up and then I get Depressed for failing.

Its like there is no exit on this maze. I just keep wander around hoping i will find it when its not there.

This reminds me of the times where I had been on medication for Depression and Anxiety too. A turning point for me was after I attended a Group Psychodynamic Therapy session that was 3 months long and we met twice a week. It was a small group of people of all ages, I was the youngest back then (in my early 20s), hosted by one Psychologist with 2 assistants (counsellors), and about 12 of us. I also met one really good Psychologist a few years after, that was another turning point.

Depression and Anxiety almost always work hand-in-hand, one leads to the next a little too easily. Back then, I needed medication to ease the overwhelming feeling from the two. It was very complicated. Those two turning points helped me the most, I still have both depression and anxiety, and some days are still difficult to handle, but being connected here in 7 Cups have helped me a lot the past 6 years.

There will be an exit, it's just very well-hidden at the moment.

@Gettingbettertoday Hey there. Good seeing you on the forums. I just wanted to let you know that I am glad your doctor has you on something that you find to be working to help you with your anxiety and depression. I also wanted to let you know that I am proud of you for having the desire to try and pinpoint what is causing you to feel the way you do. That is big and that speaks volume about your character. I really want you to be happy and I am sorry you have to deal with anxiety and depression. It can take a toll on one's life. Though I do not know how you feel or what you go through, I want you to know that you do not have to face it alone. There are listeners available you can chat with if you just want to get things off your mind or you can do as you did and come to the forums for support. I have told you in positivity corner before, I think you are so strong! And if you are not "gettingbettertoday" then maybe tomorrow. <3

It is all about patience and endurance. Probably not what you want to hear as you stumble around in the dark stubbing your toes on a regular basis.

But you are actually moving out of the tunnel. The fact that meds are starting to have an impact is an improvement. Focus on that.

What you are doing now is the scary and disjointed part. There is another side to that too. The best thing to do is to keep trying and give yourself lots of time to rest and do self-care. @Gettingbettertoday
