My only social interaction is people at work and being glared at in the grocery store 😅. Hope everyone is having a less miserable than usual Saturday 🌞

I understand that. I can relate to you in the sense that the only social interaction that I get is when I go to the grocery store and I talk with the cashier. Other than that the one friend I do have actually has a life outside of her phone and she lives over an hour away from where I am so it’s incredibly isolating not having someone you can talk to. It’s always been hard for me to make friends which is why I only have the one. I know that it might seem peculiar confiding in someone on the other side of the phone screen, but just know that I’m here willing to lend a listening ear and help you navigate whatever you’re going through emotionally or mentally ☺️

Wow, thank you for your support! It’s just really hard to connect these days and I wish I knew why. Sometimes I also wish I could just take out my need for socializing because I can’t take the pain anymore.

This sounds like my social interaction levels too! That's why I tend to talk a lot when I'm at work, of course, only during break time. It does get quite lonely at times though, thinking why other people have "friends" to hang out with, while for me, it's just work and home. I hear you, and know how it feels.

@Jaeteuk thank you, it is really helpful to start believing that this may be the reality for a lot of people? My neighbors are a young couple and they do nothing but work and come home as well. this helps me feel like less of a freak. I hope as society we start thinking of ways to connect again

Agreed. Human connection has seem to decreased immensely since the COVID years, and now with more AI technology and gadgets. I take public transit to work on some days, and while on a Skytrain or bus, 8 out of 10 people, have their eyes glued to their phones. I don't understand sometimes, why are they so obsessed to use every second of the ride to watch videos or dramas? Even while waiting in line at the bus stop or walking across the road, you should stay alert and aware of the cars around you; rather than looking at your phone, with your head down. I don't understand that. I'm like 100% alert to all my surroundings, what of a car doesn't see you crossing as you're at their blind spot? Or what if a car suddenly loses control and are heading towards you? Many people use air pods or those big wireless headphones, they probably won't be able to hear cars honking at them. I mean, I listen to music too, with wired earphones, and only in one ear.

I really think though, nowadays, many people are disconnected with each other, it seems like the norm that people don't have many friends, or at least, difficult to make new friends. So, it's now a matter of accepting that for ourselves, and learning to be satisfied with it. We can't change how others act, so, might as well accept what we have.
