@Cargirl22

your post resonated with me so mch.

I completely understand but the one thing I wanted to say was about 'improving' yourself and that never being enough. I am unsure what you mean by this but for me improving myself has been a very long journey. As a younger person I now realise I was suffering depression and also very stressed but I didn't recognise my behaviour and wish that someone had who could have explained that my anger, frustration and mood swings were all part of this. I would have sought help. Instead I was an unpredictable and sometimes angry mom who would shout and 'scare' my children. Many years on and finally on the right medication I am more my true self a loving, sensitive, empathetic human. I haven't changed I got myself back. do you feel that your trying to improve yourself is actually you trying to get yourself back or do you seek to fundamentally change as a person?

About being lonely. I am terribly. I need to try very hard to join like minded people in things that interest me. Recently I bought a ticket to go to an event. I'm already making excuses why I can't go. I want to go but of course I'll be alone. Sometimes this can be okay while other times it just emphasises my aloneness. But how else can you meet people you share a common interest with? FB groups are good house plants, BoHo style, farmhouse style. Bullet journals, try this it really helps.

I so hope this wonderful site helps you Hugs xx

@plumCake3999 i try to get myself back and am trying to get to a place in my life where there will be less stress and i can just breathe a minute. I used to have friends, unfortunately they have all gotten married and have kids now, since i dont im not really included in anything. They say "i would invite you but its just moms" its like twisting the knife, i really want kids but i havent had a boyfriend since high school and im 33.

yes totally understand how this must be so hard for you. First steps is to ask for medication to help you out of the depressive state, then try FB groups to link with others sharing your interests not new Mum's! I find this a great lifeline. Make sure it's something you can also take forward in real life too. So increase your joy in your interest first then how could you meet up with others next. I'm not a craft person but I joined a Bullet a Journal group for those with anxiety and depression and also other groups the interaction is so important. I guess for you now finding new friends with similar interests is key to moving forward. Your old friends are being selfish and they might realise this at some point but now you need to take control instead of feeling a 'victim' of circumstance. Could you become a dog walker? Voluntary work? I know this might seem impossible at the moment but could you set yourself a target to start a new hobby like photography. My ex husband used to have no interests but recently he joined a walking group, became a member of the National Trust (to visit places of interest), Woodland Trust (hug trees!) and started taking photographs on his walks and visits- shares on Instagram and I'm amazed as he never took pics in his life!!!

these are just suggestions but think what you could do.

I'm sad about how I haven't found myself yet. This depresses me because it's also difficult for me to make friends without using humor to disguise my awkwardness (my social awkwardness is still visible but it's apparently charming when I'm being my funny self) [sarcasm] Today I've been feeling hopeless and unmotivated... and I'm in need of some support.

so sorry you're feeling that way. I hate that feeling. I also hate hating --- such a negative feeling :(

but out you know what? Realizing that you're still finding yourself is one of the first steps of finding yourself.

You will find yourself --- just keep at it <3

you can't rely on others to give you hope. You must find hope for yourself. If you are depressed please consider medication. I was on the wrong medication for 12 years now on the right medication it is helping me find some kind of hope by allowing me to care for myself better. Keeping my home tidy, trying crafts, listening to music again, joining good FB groups on different topics like bullet journals there's a good one for people suffering anxiety and depression. Just try the mindfulness practices too on this site and take baby steps to being your own hope for your future. Hugs xx

unfortunately, that's true. The sooner you realize that, the better. You'll stop having expectations of others and won't be disappointed. Because even if they try helping you at first, everyone leaves eventually. The 'don't care' attitude is important so you won't think too much if it's your mistake why they left. Truth is, only you can help yourself because it's your life. People come and go.

As one of those who give hope then leave, I apologize. I cant help those who cant help and give up on themselves. I grew tired then slowly didnt keep in touch. Yes, i feel really guilty and i regret that. But at the same time, i also want to be understood that i have my limit. I also have problem in life yet people keep seeing me as someone who is capable and strong then rely on me. While i dont have anyone to rely on. In the end i runaway from them. Im weak, and my will to help is just as it is. Maybe i dont have that much of commitment for my friends.

What i understand the most is, that people wont know that you need support unless you tell them. It is hard to confess at first and perhaps ppl will keep their problem hidden to themselves and seek for help but didnt say anything (my current situation rn ironically)

Im sorry if i offend you in any way And if i got off from topic as well. this is just one of my regrets and i still havent find a way to stay strong so i can also help my friends. Im also in a condition where i cant even solve my own problem and feel so stressed. Oh well, thanks for reading and im sorry if i didnt make any sense @@

I don't know....I just never let things go and it just sticks with me. I think about all the stuff I did that was stupid or wrong and just want it to go away. I guess I am kinda sad all the time but it just turned numb after awhile. I don't know what to do.

i could have written exactly all of this. Can I suggest going to your Dr and explains you need some help at the moment. Then as my replays to others try and connect with like minded people through interest groups on FB this will help take you out of your head for a bit. Replaying is something I have had problems with for years. You need to try recognise that this keeps you stuck. You should practice the mindfulness guided meditations to help you. This will allow in time space to clear in your head to think and feel other things instead of this stickiness.

Try something new. I know how impossible this feels but set yourself small baby step goals. Only you can become and live a happier version of yourself. Don't allow the past to take your future. Be strong seek help and try very hard to start a new interest. Have you tried creating a life board- some people find this creative and transformative. It's not easy there will be times you feel one step forward two steps back but only you can take the first step. Being here is a good one!

How much my life has changed. Growing up doesn't have to suck --- but seeing the reality of the world and knowing more has made me more sad than happy.

I still try to appreciate beauty deeply - particularly nature.... but with winter coming it's a big goodbye to sunshine and "green" therapy.

need a hug :(

Wildlife still exists in the winter guess we just need to dress warm and get out!! We always make excuses- this is just one more. I hate wintertime I'm a summer person so take steps now to be prepared for this. Buy cosy clothes and boots don't need to be brand new! Join a walking group- yes you can! Volunteer!!! Always need people like you. Feel that you have nothing to offer- yes you do! Go and have a chat with a voluntary organisation. Speak to your local church and ask them what's in your community you could help with. It's just hard I know NO motivation is our worst enemy. There are good people around and so much good in this world join groups to move this new world forward. We cannot allow all the bad to takeover. If you need to stop listening to and watching the news or really cut it down. This has helped me.

Playing with friends and then the friend that theyre more connected to started to join us and slowly I started feeling left out.

I suddenly felt like I was not included in the conversation no matter how much much I tried to be relevant.

In exactly one day, I'm going to go thousands of miles away from the only person who really made me feel happy (boyfriend) and I'm not sure when I'm gonna see him again
