There are 400 of us! *throws confetti*
We've just hit the 400 subscribers in our sub-community! Yay ^^ This number fills me with such a strength - I can clearly see how many of us are fighting in the same battles every day, how many of us refuse to give in to the depressive thoughts and choose recovery. You are all amazing, because the mere decision to look for support is already a great accomplishment. And I am so grateful to be in your company, lovelies. It makes the fight easier.
I thought that now is a good opportunity to make this little introduction post, so we can all know each other a little bit better:
1. Tell us your name or how you'd like to be called.
2. What is something you feel proud of? It can be big, it can be small - the point is to celebrate our efforts.
3. What inspires you? It can be anything - an image, a song, a quote, a person, a memory... Let's spread the word about it and inspire others!
I'm Celaeno, hello ^^; I'm proud that almost exactly four years ago I finally accept the facts and made the decision to seek out professional help. That was the beginning of my recovery from the depressive disorder, and even if it is challenging, tedious and painful, I don't regret it. I would do that again and again, because this one decision allowed me to enjoy my life, to experience all of my feelings without a distortion, not merely to exist in the unbearable anguish.
Lastly, the one thing that inspires me is this comic by rubyetc:

heyyyyy im Emma :) I guess im proud of slowly stopping self harming.......... when it comes to being inspired guess my boyfriend, art and music (all time low-therapy is one song) :)
@Celaeno Yay to the big 400!
1. Tell us your name or how you'd like to be called. I would like to be called Mellie :)
2. What is something you feel proud of? I am pretty proud of my job as a barista :)
3. What inspires you? My friends and family totally inspire me :)
Nice to meet everyone!
@Mellietronx, you're the barista? That so cool! What is your favourite thing to make? ^^
@Celaeno Yup! I love making lattes :)
Whooo! 400 of us!
I'm Shadeshack, but you can call me Tali if you like :). I became a member between September and November of 2016 and I'm so glad I did! I'm proud that I've finally worked up the courage to seek help in the fall of 2015.
Throughout my life, I've never taken inspiration from something outside of myself, but now I'm inspired to keep going by my favorite artist/musician Maynard J Keenan! I'm reading his biography and his subtle encouragement fuels my will to live! A quote by him that I love is "We'll ride the spiral to the end, we may just go where no one's been."
Oh, this post is just beautiful, @Celaeno, thank you so much for making it!
My name isn't Lyra, but I decided to use Lyra as my handle here because it's the name of one of my childhood heroines: Lyra Belacqua from Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. Lyra is strong, brave and resourceful, and having people call me Lyra or introducing myself as Lyra makes me feel just a little bit stronger too. ❤
I've started university this year, and I'm just about to start my second semester. The last six months have been very rocky for me, and I don't deal all that well with change or unexpected circumstances, and I am so proud of my resilience for surviving all that's happened and setting up a new life for myself. I'm doing really well academically and I'm taking care of my own health, and those are two things that I've always struggled to keep in balance!
What inspires me... nature is really important to me, and when I feel down, or listless, or frustrated, I go for a walk. There's a beautiful common a five minute walk from where I live, and wandering around, seeing the trees and the lakes helps me keep things in persepctive. So, trees inspire me, in essence. 🌲 That cartoon that you shared is also gorgeous, Celaeno, thank you for posting it!
Glad you like the idea for this thread, @Lyra ^^ His Dark Materials are fantastic - like Pullman in general. The whole story of your username is wonderful, I love it! Can't believe I didn't connect the dots earlier ^^;
Balancing academic life with mental health is really tricky, because the whole system is the stressor itself. Still I have no doubts that you will achieve your goals.You're strong, compassionate and smart - even more than the fictional heroine you follow. You have no reasons not to be proud of your own name, because it has a significance of its own ❤︎
Thank you for everything, @Lyra. Without your hard work there wouldn't be any subscribers at all, I believe. Continue to be awesome ^^
@Lyra hi, I just wanted to drop by and say that Lyra Belacqua is the absolute best!! I love that trilogy soooo much, I can't believe I didn't see the connection :P She's such a strong and brave character, just like you are a strong and brave and amazing listener and person in your everyday life <3
@Celaeno
Yayyyy! 400 friends, eh? That's impressive.
I'm Lauren, or you can call me blossom.
Music inspires me a lot and helps me through tough times. I follow these two quotes: "One step at a time" and... "Life is tough my darling, but so are you"
@blossombreathe, it is quite impressive, right? And you are definitely part of this achievement ^^ Thank you for all of the hard work, lovely ❤︎

I haven't been as active in the subcommunities as I wanted, so with this post, now would be a good time to start that!
My name is Sarra and I am a listener here at 7 Cups!
I am proud for finding a creative way to deal with my depression, DANCE!! I believe that expressive art is very helpful in that!
On thing that continues to inspire me every day, is the strength of each and every person here on 7 Cups! Emotional, mental and physical strength! It's amazing to see everyone supporting each other while they are recovering themselves!
With that, I'd like to make a promise here, that I will definitely make efforts to be more active in the subcommunities! I can't wait to get to know you all more! <3
@Sarra, it's nice to see you back ^^ Wishing you all the best in the New Year!
