Buying things makes me feel happy for a little while
I am getting worried as I'm now at a stage where the thing that gives me small buzz is when i buy something. Normally I've been really good at managing my money and saving a good amount each month but I'm becoming less concerned with my bank balance as I feel better for a few days after I buy something. I'm not a very high earner at all so I'm getting worried about this.
@COnverse539 hey there :) It looks like you're having a bit trouble regarding your financial support. How about listing what are the things have you bought before so you could track it much easier? You can even identify what is your needs and wants out of it. if you couldn't buy something, what would make you feel? It's okay if you're uncomfortable answering this. Feel free to share anything so that we could help you out :)
@kdsyahirah hello, I do actually have a book where I keep all of my transactions listed for the last few years but it hasn’t had any impact really.
I honestly just think I’m trying to fill a void and find some excitement. I don’t have any friends so I usually just go shopping alone and end up buying something so I don’t feel like I’m just walking around aimlessly.
i stared collecting ice hockey jerseys and baseball cards a couple of years ago. It started off okay buy over time it just gives me excitement and something to look forward to when I buy some more.
@COnverse539 Hello. It sounds like what you want is friendship and that you're buying things to cope with feeling lonely. It seems that you value frugality and financial security, and your increased spending is causing you anxiety because it goes against these values. I hope you find the peace and connection you seek.
