How has depression affected your sleep pattern or habit?
Will love to hear from you
Wow. Yeah, I'll be wide awake until 1am and then wake up at 2 and 3 and 4 and then when I"m supposed to be up at 7 I don't want to move. Then I'm sleepy in the afternoon.
But it swings. It's so random and unpredictable.
I'll fall asleep at 3 pm or 3 am. It ranges from sleeping a max of 16 hours to as little as 3 or 2 hours
I may sleep 6pm and wake up at 2am
or I don't sleep at all
or I sleep the whole time
so yeah wierd
I always feel like I have to plan one day of sleeping after a busy week or even a few busy days. It has become an obsession to plan these days almost, where I can't handle changing the "plan" of staying in bed. Also, I take sooooooooo many naps and am still tired after them.
Since I got into this mess I have had a new power of sleeping my life away honestly, and people keep nagging me for being lazy. My bed feels like a safe place, so sometimes I'm awake but I refuse to leave.
I tend to sleep over 12 hours most nights because being unconscious was better than awake and dealing with myself and what I felt. I ate once a day pretty much because I fell asleep before dinner and woke after breakfast. My lose weight when it gets really bad, and I end up sleeping instead of doing what I need to do like homework or basic habits like bathing or brushing my teeth. I figure it's a better coping method than some, but it is still detrimental so I try to push myself to eat and hang out with people to keep me on a normal cycle. Slippery slopes my friends.
I just realized that if I were facing something that
I have basically become nocturnal now. It makes everything really really hard.

Any recommendations to deal with day desk job?
while fighting along all the poor sleep at night?
@mikenai22 I go to school from 8-4 so here is my advice:
Listen to music if you can. I like to do individual work while listening to my favorite music and it helps me get the job done. Have cold water with you because that sudden temperature change sometimes help. Get up and go to the bathroom if you feel like you will fall asleep (if you can). Don
hello @bluejay04 thanks for sharing your recomendations with me.
Listen to music if you can. I like to do individual work while listening to my favorite music and it helps me get the job done.
I used to like music. Especially those cartoon animes, english, piano, etc.
Somehow it slowly slowly when my condition deteoriates, I cant seem to find my "past" or favour them any more.
But once in a blue moon, yea i did notice that music helps when conditions are right just at that moment of time
Have cold water with you because that sudden temperature change sometimes help.
Dont' truly like cold stuffs. But also could be due to the "warm" hot drink that kinda comforts, which induces lethargy-ness.
Get up and go to the bathroom if you feel like you will fall asleep (if you can). Dont sit still. Also snacking personally helps me but I cant do that all the time and you might not be able to either.
Desk bound jobs, i presume it will be difficult to keep moving. The most is only to pantry/restroom.
I also like to be by a window and look outside when I need a small break from a boring task, and the light is nice.
Okays. I'll keep in mind. Thanks.
Well I get really tired around 4 or 5 and just want the day to be over. Then I wake up every morning at 3:30, in a better mood usually, because there's always so much hope in the morning that good things will happen, and then the process starts over again. A few years ago I didn't go to bed until 9 or 10, I feel an old lady, like that was such a long time ago. And I wake up every couple of hours throughout the night, then and now.
@fierylynx
