birthday depression
does anyone else experience depressive episodes near/during their bday? im struggling with this right now and have been ever since i can remember
Hey there! I'm dealing with depression, even though I think I'm kind of getting improvements, but I'm still not really sure.. Soon it'll be my 16th birthday (on feb 2) and I'm trying hard to not be sad or get caught by my deeper and darker thoughts... I hope it won't be a bad day.. Anyway I'm sorry if you're not feeling that great on your bday.. that's a real shame cause that's the day you celebrate your years being alive and how long you've been experiencing things... It is sad to know that some people remind their (I'm just gonna take out a random numer....) 18th birthday as a bad memory... I don't know if that makes any sense, but still, I hope you can get better soon. 💪❤️
hi there :>
although i have also had improvements in my mental health. usually around this time its like the improvement has gone away and im back at square one. my bday is the 10th of this month and everyone keeps asking me what i want to do. i just answer nothing because i dont see a point if i wont be able to enjoy it myself. its just gonna be a regular day. i go to school, do homework, nap, make dinner. nothing crazy. hopefully this year i dont feel bad about it and just treat it as any other day.
hey just so you know it is absolutely *** great that you are so honest
i might not know you but I hope you are getting better soon and I hope that your will to fight will always, always grow enough for you to continue fighting
i cannot fight this battle for you, but you can have my sword and shield
lots of love

I actually think many have episodes around b-day ........
some people seem to think items should be done by X age or something and if a person is getting closer to some deadline they have in their mind etc to accomplish something.
I wish people would treat their B-day..... like New Years celebrate........ a new start ... make changes and let go of expectations by age it is not realistic IMO

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!~
That is actually a rough point for lots of people. We expect too much from birthdays in terms of necessarily being happy. That pressure can cause you to feel even worse.
Birthdays can just be regular without making them into massive moments where you "have" to be happy.
Sending you strength and peace for yours.@Reeth0tot
Me!!! My birthday depression started about 9 years ago. Usually happens about 3 weeks before my birthday and lasts a couple of weeks after my birthday. There seem to be more and more worries as I get older, so the depression period is longer by the year!~
