Newbie looking for some advice
I've been struggling with depression for as long as I can remember, the bad habits and quirks that come with it are as natural as breathing to me.
Ive always been avid and active in my self-care, and prided myself on my ability to cope with my disorders.
But recently, my life took a total turn. I went from being top 2 percent of my class and having a full-ride scholarship to a local college, and my whole future ahead of me- to being kicked out of my house, losing my scholarship, losing my friends, losing my hometown, and leaving behind all of my belongings to find a job and cheap rent.
The only way for me to get through the days was to shut my brain off. It was too loud and I would have panic attacks almost daily if I tried to focus on anything but breathing.
Luckily, things have become steadier for me. I love my job and i am ready to open myseld back up again. But I can't,,, make my brain turn on ? I have no thoughts. I have no ideas. I can't hold a conversation when I used to be a social butterfly. It seems like nothing is helping.
I would really appreciate any tips and tricks to help me get my ole' internal monologue back. Or any of your favorite coping skills in general! Thank you so much ! <3

Hello there!
I'm sorry to hear you have been feeling this way, It seems as though you have been making progress, and your so brave for reaching out for help. As listeners we are not able to give advice! I will ask what are some things you would like to try or think might help? For example: I do a specific coping mechanism (different ones) depending on how my mood is. If I feel like my thoughts are overwhelming, I usually write in my journal. Feel free to message me anytime or a listener using "connect now" or Browse Listeners, we can offer you emotional support!

Hey, thank you for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about what happened. It truly seems like you went through a lot! But I'm glad you're feeling better now! It seems to me that you're feeling..numb. What do you think could help you get out of this zone? Have you considered joining a community club or online clubs to get yourself more involved? Community service activities could be a great way too!
I hope that helped!
