I'm feeling so so so awful right now. More than I can explain. So awful that I can't even pen anything more down.
@anikaasad
i'm so sorry to hear that you aren't doing well at the moment :( i completely understand how challenging it can be to even begin to explain our emotions or pen anything more down when we feel that way. however, i'm so proud of you for responding to this post at all - that shows a lot of strength. please know that if you'd like to talk about how you feel, we all care about and are here for you. i hope you feel better soon <3
I don't quite know how to post on these communities but I hope someone helps with what I'm typing here ! I have had bad depression all my life along with bad anxiety, learning disabilities, A.D.D. and I just want happiness and peace and now as an adult I still can't find it !
I have dealt with similar things my entire life as well, now being an adult still not having complete stability stresses me out even more on top of dealing with the usual ups and downs of my mental health.
@Anxietybw
hello hello!
you can post anything that you'd like in our forums, we're happy to have you here! i'm so sorry to hear that you've struggled with depression throughout your life along with other things :( i completely understand why you'd want peace and happiness as an adult! it's important to remember that happiness is not constant for anyone; we all have our more happy moments, but we also all have those times when we feel down and it's more than normal and okay. happiness can be really hard to find, as it comes from within a lot of the time. it can be helpful to create some small goals on how we can help make ourselves enjoy our time a bit more! for example, trying new skills, hobbies, activities, etc can all be really fun :) i hope you're able to get the support you deserve and feel happy soon <3 we're here for you
The one thing that brings me joy most of all are my children.
Even though it can be stressful and draining being a mom at the end of the day I am so thankful that I have them.They are the reason why I want to live and be happy again.
@Loveyourfate
hello hello and welcome to depression support!
i'm so glad to hear that your children bring you joy :) being a mom can definitely be stressful and draining as it takes a lot of work, but being able to be there for your kids shows so much strength, love, and compassion. i'm sure they're very grateful for you and i hope they continue to bring you all the joy you deserve <3 we're here for you
I’ve finally realized that the last few weeks I’ve been feeling lost and have been having nightmares are probably due to depression. I’ve been through it before and am pretty good with not letting it get me but this time is tough. I don’t have a strong support system and have never liked my job so it’s making me realize how little meaning I have in my life. I’m always afraid that the few people in my life will leave at any time. I’m hoping venting here will help me get through this.
I am sorry to hear about this slump, but know that is is temporary.
I have been feeling a similar sense of being lost lately and your comment on finding a meaning in life resonated with me. I am not a religious person. I have no plans for children or a great legacy. So where do I find a reason to get up and start checking off tedious daily tasks? I don't know. Maybe we have to make up our own meaning. Is that enough? Would a meaning I made up myself ever feel as satisfying as some universe, law of nature kind of meaning?
Maybe one day I can turn my cynicism into absurdism and at least learn to consistently have fun with it. I don't know. I'm rambling. Winter ends soon. The sun is shining today. Hopefully a change in seasons will stir something up.
Thanks for your reply and ramblings. 😀 The whole life meaning thing has got me thinking lately. I’m in my 40s with a job that’s just a job, no children or plans to have any and not a religious person either. Would our own made up life meaning be enough? Would getting my 10k steps a day be meaning enough or should I volunteer somewhere? Would reading daily be enough or should I write a self help book? What would be enough to make it feel like you have some meaning or purpose?
Just found a great podcast called The Hilarious World of Depression. Might help turn the cynicism into absurdism.
