What's your condition? (Friendly discussion)

Hello there! It's EmpatheticJem!

I've seen a few threads on this site and have commented on some. But I thought it'd be cool if we could introduce ourselves and (if comfortable) discuss our disability and answer any questions people may have.

So to start, I have nemaline myopathy. It is a rare genetic disorder that makes my muscles weak and my joints loose. It also means that I am in chronic pain.

It doesn't get me down though! It is a part of me, and I wouldn't want to live without it 💕

Tell me about your beautiful selves. I'd love to hear from you and provide whatever support I can.

We're all in this together.

I have schizoaffective type bipolar. I kinda wish there were more varieties of communities here, in mental illness, other than depression, bipolar, and anxiety. Maybe I missed a few that do exist, but I would love to see a community for schizophrenia or schizoaffective or both, personally, and maybe others have communities they would like to see. Maybe I am missing an easy way to make that happen? I am interested if it is fairly easy.

Anyway, my disability is schiaoffective, as stated.

@adventurousBranch3786

I think they are listed in alphabetical order and I did look first. I will go back and look much harder. Thank you for your suggestion that there is one already. A link would be delightful.

I've got depression, anxiety, ADHD, and possibly more that's undiagnosed :/

But I'm doing ok, and I think as soon as I get out of the house and away from my abusive mom, I'll be so much more free.

@MelanieDaniels63 Update on health*

I went to the dr. this past Dec. right before Christmas and ask about my health. They said the reason I had odd periods was due to birth control. She said that the birth control effects the periods and that there was nothing to worry about thankfully. Now to work on the other health issues/stuff, sorry a bit of tmi but wanted to add this update and news about my health. Now to get a mri before March to check on the other health issues here's to health.

@MelanieDaniels63 Ive also put off appointments because of the virus! Im glad Im not alone in that haha. If you have an urgent concern though it might still be worth calling a doctor to see if you should go in. Hope you stay healthy too :)

depression can be one of the most disabiling illness as it not only tears you apart from other people but from within yourself destroying all of your life energy.

Hey folks. I've got complex regional pain syndrome. It's a nasty chronic pain condition that affects my left leg and hip. I lost the ability to walk a year and a half ago. I've also got some ptsd and anxiety to go along with it, and will get in trauma-induced depressive spirals that are pretty debilitating. Getting myself through university somehow.

@thatdramaticsoprano That sounds ~fun~. (sarcasm.) Good luck with university, that's a feat. I also have trauma and pain and am in university. Best of luck <3

I have interstitial cystitis. I am in constant pain and sometimes get bursts of pain which cause me to collapse. It's incredibly invisible which makes it frustrating.

I definitely have imposter syndrome. Is it all in my head? Who knows.
