Does disability influence what you wear? Maybe you have clothes that are easier to get on and off, or comfortable clothing, you dress warmly or cooly, or you're allergic to some fabrics. There can also be dressing your best to try to make yourself feel a bit better or to try to counter you looking tired.
How are you feeling today?

@AffyAvo I don't go anywhere special so I don't get dressed up at all so I'm mostly sweat pants and a pocket t-shirt.
I've been in pain for days now, been a little grouchy. Other than that, everything is fine.
@AffyAvo
some fabrics are softer than other. I love the fabrics that leggings are made from. I'm a legging an t shirt person.
Does disability influence what you wear? mostly cotton, I get easily overheated and with carpal tunnel, no zippper or buttons, they get hard to handle
How are you feeling today? better than yesterday, but still achy. I several issues and anxiety as I have to see a new doctor next month.
What would you like support with this week? I'm seeking new friends but i have social anxiety.
With my parricular type/area of brain injury, depression is common. In the past couple of years, two doctors, my GP and my neurologist, have both said it is possible that depression caused by brain injury tends to be resistant to anti-depressive medication. I can't find anything online to definitively support this. But after my GP brought this up the other day, I am concerned she is correct. Emotional lability is challenging. It's quite difficult to hide when multiple times a day little things cause crying spells. I have uninstalled almost every social media app on my phone and computer just to avoid news. (Any news of gun violence is particularly overwhelming for me). My family has the TV during the day. Fortunately, they don't watch the news. And they almost never talk about what they read. But I still prefer staying up during the night to limit exposure to any TV shows or the very rare breaking news story. But what else is there to do to avoid setting off a crying spell? If anyone else has this problem with crying several times a day, I would be interested in learning ways to hide it. Thank you in advance!
Reading can be help. Just search for what subject interest you
@FoolsSelf That sounds really tough to deal with. Are you able to get professional mental health help with it? I don't know if exposure therapy could diminish your response to that or not, a professional would have a better idea. I know getting access to help can be difficult too unfortunately.
I'm still seeking a way to see a professional for therapy to learn additional coping techniques. I still wish neurosurgeons weren't so risk-adverse but I realize I can't make a doctor do a surgical procedure. It's just unfortunate that they don't realize how dangerous it is not to perform the head decompression surgery. I'm heading into a town in a little over an hour. I think I have a line on a therapist there who is not overbooked with patients. Wish me luck.
Hi Affy.
I had a flare this week coupled with a bad triggering experience. Nothing happened but I’m still feeling off. I barely managed anything on any of my responsibilities and that makes me feel kinda yucky. It sucks that this is the best day I’ve had all week, the one in which I accomplished more- and I spent it completely alone. It’s even worse the fact that that made it better. Sometimes I just don’t have the energy for my family- they care, but sometimes their caring is exhausting.
I hate my wardrobe. It’s mostly cast-offs and femenine clothing, so I live in sweatpants and ratty tees. It kinda sinks my self esteem, but there just isn’t enough money to avoid that- I guess I could splurge, but I don’t think I’d like the consequences of such carelessness very much.
Hope you had a better week-
Deq
Yes it does! I have found that I wear what is easiest to put on, and some days I wear whats most comfortable. My disability makes putting clothes on much more difficult and because of this I OCCASIONALLY wear clothes that make me feel great!
