1. What's a skill you're glad you have?

I guess I'm glad to have the ability to empathize with people when they are in a situation that may be difficult for them to understand. I have been able to help people who are frightened and confused on what is going on with their health. Being in a hospital can sometimes be a frightening place; having an affinity to engage and inform can come as a welcome relief to those who wish to know everything that is going on in their health.

2. Have you shared this skill with others, whether it's teaching the skill or providing for others with it?

Yes I have shared this technique with others in my department. Helping people understand what is going on in their bodies can give one a boost of confidence not only in the patient but the caregiver as well. Providing patients with the reins to understand their own healthcare is a positive attribute I would tell everyone to learn and master. It's a win-win situation.

3. How is this week going for you?

I'd like to crawl under a rock and stay there until after the New Year. That's how I feel. I keep asking myself how much worse can it become? I don't think I want to answer that question. Right now, I'm circling the drain and I want to climb out of that receptacle and attempt to put some positivity back into my life.
