Going to try out starting these threads Monday nights, sorry for the lack of consistency lately!

We're heading into official winter in the Northern Hemisphere, unofficially the weather is here for me!

1. What do you do on cold days?

I usually bundle up because I have to go to work; I have to drive a car to my place of employment. I do my best to keep warm outside as well as inside as the cold can slow me down. It affects my right foot so I need to keep an eye on what temperature I am working in.

2. If you're in some place hot do you wish you had winter weather now?

No, I live in a northern clime; so the question is moot for me. I have winter weather.

3. Does cold interfere with your disability?

Yes the cold does interfere with my disability; it causes my right foot to become numb and unfeeling. And that can mean stumbling. Fortunately, for me I work inside a building which is heated for the most part and I can move about my day comfortably.

4. How's your week going?

Not so well, I have had better. My left knee is now causing me pain and I'm afraid will now have to have it replaced seeing how it was damaged in my assault as well. But it has taken time to show up and this was something I knew would eventually happen. Not something I am looking forward to as surgery will be the only solution. Knee replacements are something I would want to avoid but in real life these issues must be dealt with head on.

I'm mostly blessed that I work, attend school, and have my internship all online. Some days I want to get away from the computer so bad lol However, I don't do much differently in the winter other than staying inside and not sit on my deck. Thankfully, the winter doesn't change me much except for I have SAD and sometimes insomnia. I'm battling those naturally this year and so far, pretty good.

- On cold days I bundle up under blankets and put the fireplace on.

- I am some place cold right now and I wish it was hot

- My body can neither regulate cold or hot weather and due to that it causes me all kinds of other symptoms so I am not a fan of the extremes.

- So far my week has been more good than bad. I guess we will see how the rest of it goes soon.

hi!

i am new to this subcommunity. i have not introduced myself but i will as i feel more comfortable. but i wanted to post my first check-in, in this group.

What do you do on the cold days?

I love cold and snowy days! great time to curl up with a book or a movie, take a winter nap, or go outside to check out the snow, if there is any ( i love snow).

If you're someplace hot do you wish you had winter weather now?

nope, i am not anywhere hot but this winter is so strange for us - it is in the high 30s and 40s and NO snow! i was kinda wishing for a white Christmas.

Does the cold interfere with your disability?

yes! it makes my feet numb and painful and when it's super cold, i have to wear a mask outside to not trigger breathing issues.

How is your week going?

eh, its been okay. lots of inner work and looking within.

What do you do on the cold days?

Usually hibernate if I can, study for my psychology degree. Get out and about if I need to.

If you're someplace hot do you wish you had winter weather now?

No, the weather is cold and snowy here.

Does the cold interfere with your disability?

In some ways, and at some times, definitely, it does.

How is your week going?

My week is going fine, but I am in the middle of finals. Wish my week had more hours in it, but of course, that cannot happen.

It's so cold in Chicago ldk what to do l don't have friends that r nice to me.

I like hot and cold just not to brutal. I can't take it.

Pretty much cuz I can't drive I'm so afraid. My disability sucks.

My week is nice and cozy but boring. Nothing much.

On cold days, I have to push myself extra hard to bundle up and get put for a good long walk.

My disability was just recently diagnosed. I've had a series of strokes more than 6 months ago of which I was completely unaware. My head hurts, my vision is wonky, my balance is horrible, and they think I may have been born this way.

Apparently I'm a high functioning, deceptive-talented chronic stroke person. Its embarrassing and a definite whack psychologically. Yet at the same time, now things make sense. I've often wondered why I felt weird, and often depressed.

Anyhoo, Hi Y'all! It's super uber nice to find a space to be supportive AND supported!
