I don't do new year's resolutions. Even for healthypipo, most NYRs come to nothing. How many people do you know, or have known, who actually stuck to their resolutions?

Real self-improvement needs more than a declaration & maybe a week of effort at most.

@slowdecline48 Yeah, many people do give up on them rather quickly. Some people are actually seeking to make a change though and a new year gives that extra boost to start it off.

My new year resolution is to lose weight with the hopes it will help with some of my pain.  I started the resolution early November and as of today lost about 20 pounds.  Back pain feels the same but moving around is a little easier.  Yoga and my back brace has helped with my scoliosis pain but it still hurts.  My goal is to lose at least 50 pounds more, and most importantly keeping it off.

@ShellyZz If you stick with it, you'll lose all the weight you want. You can do it.

I didn't know yoga was good for shedding cellulite...from what I've seen of it, yoga develops flexibility & coordination, & strength to a limited degree. How does it ever get your heart rate going fast enough to kickstart your metabolism?

@ShellyZz That's awesome it is going so well, keep it up!

Hopefully you will see improvement with your back. Even if not, the increased mobility is still beneficial with back pain.

Resolutions can be fun, sure. :)

What are your plans, hopes, goals or resolutions this year?

I'm hoping to recover enough to get back into weight lifting(if it will ever be possible ever again...). Currently, I go to physical therapy. My disability was caused due to a car wreck and from my abusive ex-fiancé...I also am hoping to find a new primary care provider to see if maybe the damage is permanent in my body/brain, my last doctor didn't take the issues very seriously.

How are things going this week?

Just OK so far, currently seeking a job...My physical pain and constant illnesses from both the little one and myself has made me either have to quit my jobs in the past or have my contract terminated.

@ImpudentIncognito A lot of change, job, doctor. I wish you all the best on the recovery journey. Good to hear the ex is an ex and not a current relationship! That's really awful what happened!

@AffyAvo Thanks, I went to the E.R yesterday and the day before I went to a new doctor. They've been helping me out to figure out what issue I'm running into...I asked my doctor recently if I could get a letter to apply for disabilities, since it's difficult to work based on the pain I've been experiencing. Just waiting to hear back from the doc and needing to do another x-ray and a few other things.

@ImpudentIncognito Sorry you needed an ER trip, but sounds like things are moving towards getting things in place!
