Ive had a bad weekend last week but hopefully ill have a better week/weekend this time around. Im 24 and have erectile dysfunction that I have been managing fairly well with diet and lifestyle changes. I had some issues this weekned that have made me disheartened, afraid and frustrated with my condition/self.
I recharge by connecting with my gf shes very supportive of me and my problems and im beyond lucky to have her. Ill probably just focus on other aspects of my relationship with her and put sex off the table for a couple days to get out of my head.
I love my gf so talking with her about my struggles is always great stress relief but so is sex so when I cant have it I get very frustated
@Name1534
Sorry to hear you've had a bad weekend erectile dysfunction must definitely be frustrating im female so can't say I relate but if I was in your shoes id feel frustrated too diet and lifestyle changes certainly helps with a lot of issues so great job you're able to manage it with that
your very lucky indeed to have such a supportive gf that's amazing she supports you with your problems
Some of my favourites unfortunately aren't always the best for me in other ways - getting out of the house and doing something fun for the mental, massage and bath for the physical, but both can leave me needing even more rest which I get frustrated with how much I need.
Um, hello! I'm new here! I decided to come here because recently my chronic condition has been giving me a lot of trouble. I have chronic migraines and while they're mostly under control, I had two migraines in the past week, which was a little discouraging. Also, one of my roommates refuses to acknowledge my condition and continues to do things that trigger my migraines. Anyways, here I am!
How are you all feeling this week? Tell us the good/bad/all in between.
I'm doing alright this week so far. I had a really rough week last week and ended up dropping a class that I really loved to help with my mental health. I used to really love it, but recently it's gone downhill by a lot. I'm thinking about writing an open letter to the class/program (it's a university-based, student-run film studio) about why I left so that this doesn't happen again to someone else, but I'm still debating that.
Since I dropped the class though, I've been so much happier and I even went to see a therapist. I'm seeing him every other week and it seems like it's gonna help a lot.
What is your favorite Self-care method to turn to when you need to recharge?
I meditate and I read books. I also do yoga, but more as a workout than a recharge/self-care thing. I also journal and write short stories. I'm working on a novel right now, but it always seems to slow down during the semester. Maybe I'll go on vacation this spring break and work on it a bit more.
Why is this your favorite Self-care method?
These are my favorite self-care methods because they really help me focus on something else entirely and reframe my thoughts so I can tackle the actual problem at hand instead of just symptom management.

Hey everyone, I hope youre doing well. I think I checked in here aaages ago. But basically, I have a fair few health issues. I have hydrocephalus which is where fluid isnt drained from my brain properly. I have a device in to help that but I get bad migraines and occasionally it gets blocked.
Then I also have really bad eyesight. That excludes me a lot because I cant go out after a certain time of day, I have to use magnifiers etc and still cant see sometimes. I also have asthma so I have to take inhalers. Ive been told my breathing is loud which is kind of embarrassing 😂
If all of that wasnt isolating enough, Ive recently been diagnosed with a cyst, fibroids and endometriosis. The pain that I get is terrible even on medication. And Im now at home most of the time.
This week has been a bad one because Ive been in so much pain. I havent been able to go out and just enjoy myself in months and its making me feel down. And I generally feel like Ive missed out on so much of life with all of my health problems. Im 28 and have never had a part time job away from my parents. My whole life is on hold and I dont know what my future will be like honestly 😢
Would you belive I'm still fighting the stomach bug? I went for a walk around the block, and took two breaks, but I still got queasy last night, and a little today. If it wasn't for those breaks, I probably would have thrown up. I'm glad I didn't, but it's just so weird that after two months I'm still dealing with this. :/
@HydrangeaField oh wow 2 months have you seen a doctor about that hydra
@CaringBrit I did near the end of January. She said it was because of my weakened immune system that it's taking so long to beat, and I was given some nausea medicine so I don't throw up anymore. It's worked so far, but I've been too nervous to walk any further than I have.
