Finances and disability, hmm. So often they cause increased cost, buying a wheelchair for instance or simply a new walking stick costs money. One thing in the UK is that disability aids can be purchased free of VAT if the person can prove a disability, which means 20% off which helps. I am not sure if other countries do something like that. But I recommend contacting local charities for information on this.
As this is Celiac Awareness month I will highlight the massive cost of buying gluten-free foods compared to those with wheat in. (UK pounds)

@MistyMagic Oh interesting about how VAT works there, here 'necessities' (which really doesn't include everything needed to live) simply aren't taxed with GST, so a walker for example has no tax regardless if it's used for a mobility disability, while recovering from an acute injury, or is to be used as a prop in a play.
Yes the gluten free flours and other foods are fairly expensive, here the difference can be used as medical expenses for income tax credits. It can be a bit difficult to do that though, plus the government may ask for receipts for proof. If food is shared, the portion used for the individual also needs to be kept track of. They made it a bit easier, it used to be only for people who were diagnosed with celiac disease via biopsy, but now a medical note stating a celiac diagnosis is good enough, the biopsy is not required.

I have seen the impact that a disability can have on the person's caregivers. Especially if insurance doesn't cover everything.

@ChildGoddessFlute Yes, it can become really expensive to have a disability and often other family members or caregivers cover those costs.

hi, my doctor visits, doctor's examinations, electric wheelchair and meds are financed by health insurance. I have got caregiver who helps me with many everyday tasks. They are financed by government.
However, i have got many expenses which i need to pay out of pocket, but i manage to cope with them.
@CheerySandi I'm really happy to hear that all of those things are covered, but yes, I imagine you still have some extra costs.

thanks you very much. The biggest issue i face isn't financial but stress i have got with my parents as they are never satisfied with me. They don't understand what chronic condition is. They think that i have no working habits and can't change their minds. They aren't satisfied with how my caregiver cleans my flat either. They say that also my caregiver has no working habits. And my friends either as they go out so much. They want that i spend afternoons at home cleaning and not hanging out with friends, going to pubs, trips, etc. They can't change their minds, explaining them how life revolves today is like explaining a 5 years old child the issues with exploration of Mars (why we can't send humans there, why water and life has not been found there by now, etc).
