Weekly Check in 3rd - 9th September
heyy all its my week this week just a quick check in this week
How are you all feeling ?
one thing going well?
one thing not going well?
how are your goals going ?
Feels strange to write in this week's check-in so soon after I wrote in last week's, but this Monday I have a lot on my mind that I kind of just need to vent! (I apologize in advance)
One thing that's going well so far is my move to the new place, hoping it continues to do so! :)
But one thing that isn't going well today is me, haha
I stood in the mirror just now before I went to bed and just stared at myself, for the first time in a long time. And I realized just how much weight I've lost (involuntarily), and in such short time, because of my illness.
I also realize how much it's really bothering me, the way my body looks now, and the fact that I've never really talked about it to anyone. I don't like to see myself lose weight I'd like to keep, it's like all of the sudden I don't know my own body anymore. My clothes don't fit, I don't fit.
I don't know why it struck me so hard today, but it did. It really got to me and now that it has, I'm slightly panicking over the fact that I'll probably lose a little more weight.
I don't know, just a lot to unpack for myself I guess... Both in my new flat and in my mind.
@versatileYard8117 hugs no apologies needed you really needed that venting time and im here for you and awesome the move is going well and oh no that sounds stressful losing weight you didnt want to lose
@CaringBrit thanks for the virtual hug, I needed it. I'm sending one to you too! :)
Yeah, it's a surprisingly emotional journey to be losing weight, and I think it'll be a while before I come to terms with it. But thanks to you guys in the disability community here on 7cups, I know I always have somewhere to turn to for support and understanding
@versatileYard8117 aww that made me get a tear hearing that you feel supported by us ty for the feedback :) and ty for the hug too and anytime i can only imagine how emotional it can be im placing myself into your shoes on how id feel id certainly be distressed but your not alone got so many others who may be in the same situation
Things are just feeling hard right now, and there's a few extras of things I need to deal with too.
I'm certainly not up to what I can get to, physically. That's just making everything else seem overwhelming.
There were some things that would have been useful to do outside of the house today but I just called it as an at-home day, semi-restful. I need to squeeze lots more of these in somehow I think.
I'm disabled.and my son is back in school. My doctor strongly recommended that I quit my last job in sales 6 years ago and I've been on disability since then. The days can be long. I still feel like I can contribute to the world and I feel like I'm getting healthy enough to work if the right job popped up. But I have no idea what I want to do. I did some career placement testing and everything that it recommended to me was something I'd need to go back to uni for.
On the other hand... I do enjoy having the freedom to do whatever I feel Ike doing, because I'm not a schedule person at all. I just feel like I'm spinning my wheels, and I'm lonely.
I am thankful my Belly has gotten better, I wish I knew why my lips wont heal , I ame eating everything in sight and that isnt good lol
My walker really needs cleaned and a motor added lol
I want to feel better all through my body along with the old brain I have lol
Have a great weekend everyone!!
