Unknown illness impacting my whole physical and mental wellbeing.
Hi all, I don’t even know where to begin, it’s been a roller coaster. I started with stomach issues in 2019 which they medical profession thought was Crohn’s disease, but they have been unable to find any evidence with countless investigations. Fast for are to 2023 I had the last four months of the year on sick leave with the issue. When I returned to work in 1023, I was doing better, but six weeks later I had sudden onset on peripheral neuropathy. I am not a diabetic and currently there is no reason as to why this is happening.
its affected my entire life. I still work but in resisted duties being a fall risk I come home at night so tired I go to bed and I spend the weekends doing nothing as I am so worn out from working,
currently I can’t feel from mid thighs down to my toes and from my elbows to my finger tips.
I can no longer drive, I fall regularly, and asking is difficult but I’m also stubborn. I’m 42 years old and I feel like I should be 80.
metally this has hit me hard in the last week. I have found mys of wishing for MS as this would give me answers, but my biggest fear is there is no reason for this happening, which means they can’t stop it.
mentally I am so drained, I don’t know what happened to my life,

I am sorry you are going through thins type of thing... Nothing was more frustrating then having symptoms and issues told it could be___________ or maybe_____ but no solid answers.
I once had issues that i had hope for just an answer and then a real solution instead of let us see and try several thing none of which helped. it is frustrating and you wonder if anyone even believe you.... i had a dr say it was in my head until they found what it really was.

i saw the neurologist and he performed an eeg on my nerves, which showed that the electric currents weren’t travelling like they should be.
I also have a physiotherapist who is great, but now my reflex’s are barely responding.
I'm very sorry to read all that...it's quite unfair.
The only thing that comes to mind is that whatever is causing the neuropathy is apparently attacking your nerves from the farthest extremities in. Presumably you've done plenty of research on your own...maybe it's a nerve degenerative disorder of some kind. As I understand it, human nerve tissues have a cellular coating of some kind around them...when that coating starts to disintegrate for some reason, nerve function is gradually reduced. If the outer layer goes away completely then the nerve itself ceases to function. What diseases do that? One of them could be yours.
It could also maybe have to do with the lymphatic system, as that influences more functions in the human body than many people realize. I apologize for not being able to do more than take shots in the dark, so to speak. Unfortunately that's all I have for you
