Day 8: Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Wow, it is crazy to think about 5 years from now...by that point, I could have a son that is a college graduate! I will definitely have a child who is in 11th grade and one who is in 5th grade. I expect that I will be working in my same teaching position, although it may be at a different school. I hope that I will still be managing my pain and fatigue well!
Day 5 : How does being chronically ill make you feel?
My Feelings At The Beginning of my illness : At first all I could feel was pure apprehension, anxiety and fear. How was I going to manage my family and my career? I needed to do so many things for my family and at work. I have to be active so how was I going to do it? Soon my feelings turned to disappointment , frustration and later anger. Anger towards myself and everyone around me who have been imposing and taking too much for granted. There was a time I could not recognise the image of myself I saw on the mirror. My eyes looked so dull and lifeless. I was constantly giving excuses and I felt like I was in a prison. A prison without bars or a lock yet I was so afraid to move out of it.
My Feelings Now : It's alright. It is just an illness. It will pass and I will be just fine. Just wait patiently. I can start going out again mmm ... maybe I will go shopping at the mall ...or meet my friends for coffee. Well, thank you my dear body for helping me. I shall buy you a nice set of clothes.
Day 17
It's difficult to say not having ever been completely healthy. How does one know how if they could change things throughout their entire life how much that would impact other things?
Just basing it on times when I was doing better.
- I would be way more active. I used to be involved in so many things.
- I would be working and would have more disposable income
- I would be happier, generally periods where I have been relatively physically well I was pretty happy.
-I would have less negative stress. I might have more things going on but I think it's fair to say I would have less big negative stressors and more smaller ones along with more positive ones.
- I would have a bigger social circle that I would see on a regular basis.
- I would spend less time online or watching tv.
-I would pay more attention to my appearance.and be more satisfied with it. If you had told me 10 years ago I just wouldn't care about certain things I would be surprised. It's not that I don't care at all, but going out with greasy hair from rubbing oil into my head beats it bleeding and oozing. I'd rather not wear makeup than deal with an eye eczema flareup. I would rather be heavier than what I view as ideal than have even more attacks from exercising in a similar manner to what I did previously.
Day 6 : If you could have told yourself something when you first remember the symptoms arising, what would you have told yourself ?
I would have given myself a hug and lots of tender loving care. I would tell myself : Please do not to be apprehensive, anxious or fearful of the pain. It's just an illness like other illness. You can recover and go on with your life. Talk to your spouse and children and enjoy their love and smiles. Gain courage to be confident and appreciating your strong qualities. Give yourself all the support you need. Take time out from work or any activities, without feeling guilty. They can manage without you for some time. You are not being a coward or running away from your responsibilities by taking time out. Do reflect regularly and let go the memories of all the toxic people in your past. They don't have the power over your joy and peace. You have the power and the will to make choices how you want your life to be. Smile genuinely and confidently when you look at your children.
Day 9:
I've tried very intense self care - did not "cure" me but definitely ameliorates the severity and frequency.
Day 7 : What was the biggest realisation you have had?
I realised, no matter how much someone loves me , they cannot absorb and reduce my pain. I have to deal with it on my own. I have to find the strength to cope and lead my daily life. I have to love myself, be patient and kind to myself. If I am well on the inside then I can overcome the pain on the outside.
Day 8: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Being at peace with my thoughts, emotions and actions. Still smiling with the sparkle in my eyes, joy, sincerity and honesty in my feelings. Giving all the unneseccary confusions and doubts a final rest place. Enjoying my cup of tea and looking forward to many more wonderful years with my spouse and my children.
Day 7) My disablity may be difficult to deal with but I can keep pushing forward
all these questions are making me tired haha lol day 30 the end XDD
@peacefulSoul8 Ohh :/ maybe you could get back to them later? Day 30 is the one that needs the most answering so maybe you may not want to skip to that one right now :P
@heartfulMusic18 yes lol:P
@peacefulSoul8, I visualize these 30 days as entries to my journal. It's interesting to reflect cause it actually makes me aware of where and what I am in the present now. So Instead of writing in your journal or diary, write here. Just follow the day to day entry and the questions helps to guide you. The 30 days journey does not have dates so you can strectch it to more than 30 days if you have a busy schedule.
@faithlove1111 good idea:)
@peacefulSoul8
Day 5;
It makes me feel weak and wish I could just be totally normal & healthy.
