Overdoing it during the holidays and recovering

I think it's common for many of us to push ourselves a little (or a lot!) bit more than ideal over the holidays.
Did this happen to you? What symptoms did you experience?
Do you have plans to help you recover?

The increased covid measures have actually ended up making pacing easier for me because I'm not allowed to do all the things I'd usually push myself to do. As hard as it is to not be able to spend time with the people I love, it feels nice to not be the one "ruining" everything this year by saying no

@AffyAvo
Affy, thanks for the post! Hope you are well.
Over did it here, yes.
- Tried my best to contact a few close friends to see how they are doing. I am glad I checked on them, but I am going to need a lot of recovery time for sure.
- There has been a lot of "home" problem "things" occurring unfortunately. 3 diff electrical problems that have had to be dealt with separately. 1st, it was tracking down the issue and I had to get loud and insist that he turn the breaker off for us to replace an electrical outlet. (I wonder why it is so necessary to have to get this way over things like this). Next, the microwave quit with an electrical problem and had to be replaced. Today, on Christmas, the oven caught on fire, haha. I had to stop him, as he had gone and got pliers and was in the oven with it on fire, trying to break off the electrical coil at the bottom of the oven that was on fire. I had to yell to tell him to unplug the stupid oven. Mercy!!! (why is it necessary to have to yell about these or anything?? I just have to when it comes down to live and death things like this. Why would he even think to get pliers to cut something on fire to stop an electrical fire and the stupid stove has already been doing uncontrollable things on the stovetop???) I need a break!!!! I need a diff older grown adult around sometimes just to talk to reasonably, or even get a sentence or a response from.
- I have been dealing with a ton of our financial things, constantly, up through Christmas Eve. There have been a lot of changes that I had to make. Many have required a ton of follow-up with the companies, daily, on many aspects, with multiple companies.
- The phone is almost impossible and worsens two of my disabilities; but I have to take care of these things, or they will not get done. I have to do what is necessary, no matter how bad and do all I can to get it over with. I think of how nice it will be when it is done, and that helps keep me going. ❤️ I just know to keep fighting withing myself to get it all done, not matter what and not give up. I know to keep calm, that I am in control of how I allow myself to feel, act, react, etc, no matter how the companies are that I keep having to deal with are, over and over. I know they do not care and do not expect them to ever care. I deal with them in a business manner, as efficiently as possible, calmly as possible in all efforts to solve things to get done.
- I'm just trying to plan how to deal with some more business things.
- I'm happy there has been a tiny bit of downtime with the holiday time, even if there have been home electrical things that have had to be dealt with. It is at least a break from the usual mess. 😍😊 I am actually so thankful for this. I am also so thankful that the house did not burn down. ❤️😊
