Chores and Cleaning

More of a rant than anything else. I want to surprise my partner while they’re gone and clean our entire apartment and I love cleaning. However, it is so exhausting to clean despite being able to put on music and just vibe. It’s great for replenishing my mental health but terrible for my physical health. My heart seems to think I’m doing a workout even just doing dishes and for some reason vacuuming is nearly impossible if it lasts longer than 5 minutes at a time.

It sucks when things that help my mental health negatively effect my physical health because then it effects my mental health and becomes some sort of weird feedback loop.

I hate the penalties my body gives me for not following its rules.

@TerrariumSnails3 I understand. It's so difficult when what's going to help outmr mental health vs. physical health clash.

It's frustrating to have to pace things out, especially when the breaks seem to take more time than actually completing the task.

Generally though, I find I can get more done if I don't push myself too hard. It's also ok to enlist help!

I think it's incredibly sweet and big hearted to surprise your partner but try to be realistic about what your limitations are. I'm sure they don't expect perfection.

There are always other ways to show them how much you care without overextending yourself. My routine has to be so slow because the pain and tiredness won't let me do much.

It is frustrating but risking a strain is ten times worse. Spot cleaning is so much easier :)
