Progressing cognitive impairment
It feels like I'm here every few days at this point on what has become the same topic and I hate it. I feel like my mind is declining. Not in a sliding into mental illness way but in a losing bits. My sense of time is utterly and perpetually shot, I have to work to remember what day year month it is in order of events. I forget details easily and recall is hard. Anything taking mental effort seems to cost an arm and a leg in energy. And i was a very mental person. I'm not that old and Im losing myself. It's terrifying and all I can do is exhaust myself documenting it.
@secretSail3092 We welcome posts so please never worry about that. Sometimes it can be easier to carry on one long thread, a string of posts ( just reply to your own posts) that way they are all there as a kind of log about what you are saying.
At 7 Cups we don't give advice other than to say it is always good to seek support and help from a medical professional. You sound as if you are noticing things that are concerning you deeply. What does your partner say or think?
I am seeking professional help, it's just taking time to get the appointments. My partner's comments are what has led me realizing some of this.
@secretSail3092 waiting for appointments can be so frustrating can't it! What I do is I try and keep a journal, just brief notes and dates/times of things that I have noticed, or in your case that perhaps you have both noticed. Sleep or lack of sleep, tiredness, fatigue, headaches, what I forgot etc All that may help your doctor see a full picture with more clarity.
