Turning 20 in a month and I want to go to the mall but it hurts my legs

Hi there! Just for some context I’m nineteen years old and I turn 20 in a month. I got diagnosed officially at 16 with Charcot Marie Tooth which is a neuromuscular condition that affects my peripheral nerves in my legs and hands, it is also known as a muscular dystrophy and neuropathy, it causes me a great deal of pain to walk around for long periods of time or stand around for long periods of time. Most of the time when you go to the mall there’s a bout a million people there and all of the seats are taken by people who are on their phones waiting for their loved ones or needed to sit for a moment. At my mall it’s the same thing except there are barely any seats and thus I have to tough it out. They usually do not provide wheelchairs or mobility scooters and thus I’d have to buy one on my own except that’s so expensive that it’d be impossible for me to pay my bills. I’ve been saving up for this trip and can’t wait to go but last time I was in so much pain I about collapsed into the floor in the middle of the store. If anyone has any tips or suggestions for me on how I should go about this day that would be wonderful thank you!!!!

@kamisoul3485 I've never been to a mall, but I'm seen pictures and can imagine how busy it can get. Is there any local smaller shop centre you can go to? I know it's not the same as going to the mall though🙁 if I could I lend you my wheelchair💖 what about those walkers that come with a seat, that might be a bit cheaper than a wheelchair (but I'm not sure though) wherever you go I hope you have a great birthday💖💖 and there is nothing embarrassing about sitting on the floor when needed💖

A few things came to mind. I'm not sure if it would help or not. Would it be possible to buy crutches to alleviate some pressure and pain and give your body at least some support while getting around?

Can you call up the Mall and ask if you can reserve seating. I know it's strange but they must realise, some have greater needs than others.

It's not the same but online shopping is a possibility, or someone going to the Mall for you, with a phone camera, videoing or taking pictures of anything that appeals?

I hope you have a wonderful birthday :)

Mmaybe it's just cultural, but are there no malls near you with wheelchairs or scooters to borrow/rent? Here the small malls have wheelchairs and the big ones scooters.

If not from the mall, what about renting one elsewhere? Via the healthcare system or home healthcare company?

I hope you find a way to enjoy a day at the mall!
