Diabetes is tough and exhausting but it's also manageable and with the right strategies out in place, you can feel better 💕💜

Hi there Lion!  I think that is a great name for you but not so sure about the cowardly part, as you have posted here which is a great step in finding additional support. I'm Misty, and Welcome to the Disability Support community.
Recognising you are feeling burnt out is a very brave thing to share, sometimes we just don't know what to do to make ourselves feel better or to get support when we need it.

Here at 7 Cups it's important for everyone to know that we aren't allowed to give advice, in particular medical advice, for that you would need to approach your medical professional and ask, but you probably know that already. What we can do is help to boost your confidence and help you to take charge of how you feel and help you to go from there.

I was also just wondering who gave you the omnipod and is it remote checking?  Is anyone helping you monitor your levels? One of my friends uses a Dash and they get support all the time but I know different countries have different support on offer, but maybe worth a look?

Please keep us posted on how you are getting along.

@CowardlyLion17 Different health issues, but I definitely understand the illness and medication burnout.

I wish I had answers for you. I have sought out articles on burnout and it's almost all about working. We can't just take a vacation from our illness, or from managing our medications to have a bit of a reprieve.

There are a few things I found help ease it a bit -

  • Taking other things off my plate
  • Have someone else manage my medical supplies for a bit (if you have a friend or family member willing to)
  • Placing things in easily accessible areas (for you maybe keeping some candy or juice on your nightstand, at your desk, etc.)
  • Connecting with other people dealing with the same thing, sometimes misery does love company
  • Keeping in mind that when I'm doing physically worse it's going to be even harder so I better try to deal with the issue before it gets worse.

Ultimately though I didn't get over my burnout doing this, it just helped me coast through it. For me I do find it ebbs and flows. So right now I'm doing ok but I expect burnout to happen again in my future.
