Body Dysphoria

When I look up body dysphoria google either wants to give me results regarding gender dysphoria or else body dysmorphic disorder. If I include disability then I get topics that show up about body integrity identity disorder or 'transabled'. Unlike transgender, the term transabled goes one way - people who do not have a disability who well like they should have one.

I can't find any information about dysphoria regarding disability or illness.

Is this just implied when someone is chronically ill or disabled? That they *should* feel this way so there's no need to have a label for it? If so, I feel like this is a huge disadvantage to both those who are comfortable with where their body is regarding disability and those who are not.

@AffyAvo My guess is that the differences between individuals are so great that the terminology can't be very precise. I suppose someone experiencing severe dysphoria associated with chronic illness or disability might be described as having agitated depression, agitated anxiety, a mixed state, an adjustment disorder, or something else I haven't thought of. You're right—the term "dysphoria" only seems to be used in certain contexts.

@RarelyCharlie I feel like dysphoria is the best descriptor though, at least for me. Sad and frustrated? Sure. I don't think I'm depressed. Anxiety? Yes. An anxiety disorder though? Never diagnosed when it came to doing injections but I felt disorder or not it was bad enough to negatively affect my quality of life so I dealt with that. The anxiety regarding attacks due to my illness though, I really do not think qualify as an anxiety disorder. Adjustment disorder sounds like a reasonable fit except for this part - "Your reaction is stronger than expected for the type of event that occurred." What's expected when one has multiple methods of coping are suddenly found to be unsafe triggers, multiple aspects to a lifestyle need to be drastically altered, career goals become unreasonable and they discover their risk of a rather unpleasant death is fairly high? I'm not really sure about mixed state to comment in an informed way, looking it up I get information about bipolar disorder.

Unease to the point where it causes distress though? Dissatisfaction with my body? Yes, I have that about my body. It is something I have learned to deal with, to cope with. Some of that has been about changing my body itself though. If I was as sick as I were at my lowest point based on physical problems alone, I think that would have lead to depression and other issues.
