No-Cook Foods
What kinds of foods do you like to have that require no cooking?
@BlindGrapefruit
I am answering my own thread haha

Most cans are cheap and convenient, but not ALL cans satisfy the nutritional checklist. We asked Jaclyn London, MS, RD, CDN, Nutrition Director at the Good Housekeeping Institute, to come up with the best healthy options you can reach for again and again — and the five major no-nos to avoid.

Hi! I just moved out on my own this year, and have had luck with the following:
- Microwavable two-minute rice (in little pouches; whole grain would be healthier than white). This is technically cooking, but a simpler, faster way of making rice. My store also has this for quinoa, lentils, etc.
- Fruit smoothies! You can add leafy greens, yogurt, milk (dairy or non-dairy), juice, protein powders, nut butters, avacados, etc. If cutting/preparing things is an issue, all of it can be pre-packaged and/or in the frozen aisle of a grocery store.
- Yogurt parfaits (yogurt, fruit, and granola)
- Tortilla wraps (with for e.g. deli chicken/turkey meat, lettuce, cheese, other veggies to taste, and salad dressing/sauce).
- Salads
- Avocado with tuna or salmon in the middle (put a scoop of it where the pit was)
- Bagels with cream cheese
- Sandwhiches (you can get creative with this; I try to change out the buns/toppings regularly.
- Chia pudding (Google can help with a recipe)
- Overnight oats (Google can help with a recipe).
- Cheese and crackers (plus meat, veggies, etc.)
- Apples and peanut butter
- Unsweetened apple sauce with cinnamon (it tastes even better when warmed in the microwave).

Granola
There's no cook and no prep :)
Hummus and veggies is a good low-prep snack. I find cucumbers are something that are easy to cut up. For no prep though, there's baby carrots.
@AffyAvo thanks for not forgetting the carrots! Humus is a great idea I forgot about that.
@AffyAvo
sometimes I use crackers when I'm eating hummus, but I love hummus and either raw broccoli or microwavable steamed broccoli.
Pasta bake lol
Nice salad
