Undiagnosed

I haven't been feeling well for the past couple of years. This past fall, it got a lot worse. I had to quit my college swim team, and eventually had to withdraw from school altogether.

I have severe gastrointestinal problems: stomach pains, nausea, vomiting, difficulty eating, bowel issues.

I also have fatigue to the point where I can't do half the things i used to. I went from swimming 10,000+ yards a day, to barely being able to make it off the couch.

Ive been to so many doctors and none of them have been able to give me an answer, just more medication. I even got my gallbladder taken out hoping that was the answer, but am still having problems.

I had an ultrasound done and it found what they think is a cyst on my ovary. They told me to wait a month and come back to see if the cyst has gone away. Since then, my left groin area has started throbbing and there's also a small lump in the area.

After making the mistake of searching my symptoms on the Internet, I'm freaking myself out about the possibly of ovarian cancer. I'm so done with the waiting and medications. I just want to know what's wrong with me.

Just wondering if anyone's had a similar situation or has similar symptoms, and could offer some advice.

With a change of symptoms, it's worth going back to the doctor, especially while undiagnosed. This might actually help you get your answer.

If you are young, ovarian cancer would be fairly unlikely.

I do not mean this as a diagnosis as all, just putting the information out there for you. Ovarian cysts can rupture. Sometimes that needs treatment and sometimes it doesn't. It's most likely worth going back and getting your new symptom checked.

Hi, many cysts are totally benign and can go away between cycles - i've had a number of ovarian cysts in the past and they've usally required me to be rechecked several months later to see if they had shrunk. I know that waiting can be really hard; and google diagnosing and all the scary things out there can make it harder again (think i've read all that scary material as well). From what you've said about the pain and lump you can feel you should probably go back to the dr to let them know what is happening ... and hopefully they can give you some added suggestions about reducing pain as well. All the best to you

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I understand how frustrating it can be.

I've had a surgery to check for Endometriosis (lost my ovay/fallopian tube, but good riddance), and nothing was found other than a 9.4cm cyst with a small benign tumor attached to it that were removed at the time. I still have all the symptoms I had before, have done more diagnostics, and nothing is popping up other than me having all the textbook symptoms and genetic predisposition pointing to Endometriosis. I'm fighting tooth and nail for a hysterectomy because I no longer care what's wrong with my uterus; I just want it gone.

I hope you get some answers and/or relief soon.

So sorry to hear of all your symptoms they sound very painful and distressfull when you're having to give up the things you love. I do agree with Affy, with symtoms that are changing so much it is always worth visiting a dr again, it does sound very similar to my condition where all things are interlinked, cysts don't always indicate cancer it's often just polycystic ovaries that can dissapear over time. It may be worth looking up invisible disabilities and seeing if any of the symtoms match yours and then asking to be refered to a specialist.

I hope you are able to get the help you need and in the mean time do feel free to message any of the listeners on here who will happily support you through those difficult flare ups.

I've banned myself from googling symptoms. Webmd.. how I hate you.
