Friendship with another autistic becoming toxic

Hi:

I am an adult woman living on the autism spectrum and for nearly 5 years, I have associated with another autistic adult man who lives in my local community. He's older than I am and he appears to take care of himself, but he has more moderate traits and arrested development. For example, his conversations are at the level of an 8-year-old which are redundant and often the same.. He also tends to be quite rigid and a bit of a perfectionist. If people don't do things according to his view of the world, then he tends to get very cranky and rude.

The last several times I have interacted, these behaviors have seemed to increase which have left me feeling icky the last couple times after interacting with him. So, I decided that maybe he andI are not not a good fit for one another.
