Binge eating issues
Hello, first time ive used one of these but Im struggling with binge eating and cant seem to stop it. I did well last month but this month it has crept back in to my weekly life. It leaves me feeling fat, fustrated and like a failure. Ive also started purging and fasting and generally messing around with my diet. I just want to get to a good place with food. Been dieting hard for past two years and used to be able to control my weight through excessive exercise and strcit dieting but cant seem to stick to it anymore. Im feeling lost and alone.

@limeCat542 - Hi lovely, first of all, here's a big *hug* for you because I know those feelings are hard to live with and it can all feel very isolating and overwhelming.
And I completely get the instinct to want to purge or fast to 'compensate' for a binge, but I also know that at the end of the day it never works as well as you hope. Because when we purge or restrict, our bodies actually become more likely to binge rather than less likely. After a binge, moving back to normal eating patterns is actually the best hting you can do for your body.
If you ever need someone to talk to about everything or could use some extra support, you're more than welcome to reach out to me. Take care and be well!
I need help right now too. I need to pull it together. My eating had been fine for years and years (I used to be bulimic). But the past few weeks I've been bingeing so much it's almost constant. I feel scared. I don't have family or a best friend to support me. I don't understand why this is happening to me or what's going on. I'm waiting on my therapist to call me back but I'm literally just sitting in my car crying. I don't know where to go or what to do.

I want to commend you for your bravery. I know this is an intensely personal topic. Unfortunately, I can relate. But it is also my own ache that drives me to serve others. This past week has been difficult for me personally. I have undergone some medication changes that also altered my cycle and I just seem to keep eating and eating. I know it is a slippery slope. I am looking forward to getting back into the work week where things are made more reasonable by coffee and cigarettes.
Do you find specific times of the day or week more difficult than others?
Have you tried distraction as a coping skill?
Best wishes dear.
If I might interject, The evening is always my weakness. Usually by the end of the week I try to be fit again but then Sunday I binge as a stupid "cheat day " that tends to end on Monday or Tuesday instead because obviously it's a trigger. I have trouble distracting myself all I think about is food when I feel like that.

I completely understand! I often find myself akin to the phrase: "I am going to eat my feelings." I have always had a turbulent relationship with food. Personally, I hope being more consistent with exercise will help- but some days it is so difficult to get off the couch. Stay strong. I admire the fact that you have been able to detect some of your thought patterns.

Hello there, I am sorry you are experiencing this situation. Perhaps if you focus on the motivation to get to a different place ? I am not sure this would suit you, but have you tried setting up goals about staying healthy, feeling strong, making your self proud with your decisions. It is a journey, totally worth it! :) finding the why within, is a great reason to get things done. there is much promise in commitment and in strength of heart! :)

Hey I have the same thing, I've been bouncing back and forth between binging and starving and can't seem to find a healthly balance. Also, even though I recently lost 40 pounts, me weight is still significantly higher (about 40 more) than when my bad relationship with food started at 15 :/....really hoping that connecting with someone online will help. Message me!
