I’m lost

I hate it rn. I hate waking up everyday with the same feelings of shame, disgust and disbelief of how someone like me has a shot with anyone. Every aspect of who I am is shaped aroujd ED, my mood, my behaviour and the way I look at life. My life's goal is to be skinny and for the past 5 years I have done nothing but gain weight and that burden me more. If I could go back in time and figure out why and how this happened, why I began to act like this and to just fix it. I miss the innocent says when food was my best friend and when I enjoyed every second of everyday with no feelings of despair and hatred towards myself. I wish I could relive these memories but i cringe at the fact that I even loved the way I looked before.

I found it's more fun to focus on fixing my problems. So I wake up each day thinking about fixing things even more. It's nice to feel tiny progress daily from making small easy changes little by little.

Here are some ideas that may or may not apply to you (they're not recommendations, just ideas).

I designed meal plans for myself based on nutrition level analysis using free web app https://cronometer.com
I designed my meals so they give me the target nutrition I need and not too little or too much. All within safe ranges.

Now I always use those meal plans so I know what I'm going to eat all day. That daily consistency really helped me stabilize my situation. It also made it easier to shop and improve my meal plans more and more.

I use a food scale and measuring cups and measuring spoons so I always eat the planned amounts.

My meals are designed so I'm getting all the daily nutrients I need from real foods I eat. I eliminated all non-real food (heavily process foods that comes in a box and doesn't look like a real food like a vegetable or bean or seed).

I eliminated as much sugar as possible by changing what I bought. That really really helped reduce strange sensations of hunger for no reason.

I also reduced my fast carbs each meal so within safe limits that don't spike blood sugar and cause blood sugar crash and hunger later. That really helped too. I eat food with protein early in the morning so the digestion is slow, not fast like from cereals or baked goods.

I eliminated all flour products because they are fast carbs. I replaced them with slow carbs or other types of foods.

I don't eat any junk food, snack foods, baked foods, or foods that come in a box.

I eat all real food. No added sugars.

No fruit juices. I drink mainly water.

I avoid fruits and get my vitamins from vegetables and other foods instead so I avoid the sugar from fruits.

I use a lot of frozen vegetables of different types, and dry red lentils, and barley, and rolled oats, and canned salmon, and sunflower seeds, and other healthy foods that provide more than all the nutrients I need daily per analysis I did on https://cronometer.com

I cook a lot of the foods in batches and put them in the refrigerator the night before. That lets some of the foods with starch turn into resistant starch which lowers their calories and glycemic load and makes them better for the gut microbiome health.

I spread out my calories all day long so my blood sugar levels stay steady all day which makes me feel good all day long.

I drink sips of water every now and then (I have a water cup always by my side with a stainless steel straw and yellow rubber tip). I drink tap water that I leave in a pitcher overnight so the chlorine evaporates so it tastes just like bottled water then but is essentially free from the tap.

I get good sleep each day of the week and go to sleep at consistent times at night and wake up at consistent times in AM.

I get lots of physical activity daily and try to spread it out as much as possible, especially after eating. That is supposed to help train the muscle cells to burn sugar in the blood properly rather than become resistant.

All that worked really really well for me. It's easy to do daily now that I set it all up in advance. Now I just repeat.

And it's very inexpensive and very healthy.

Please forgive any typos above.

You're welcome @straightforwardKiwi5925

Daily positive progress is a right way.

I take tiny mini easy steps to overcome resistance and make new habits.

Then after the tiny mini habits lock-in, they become almost automatic, and also grow.

Yet I always keep the goal tiny and mini to keep the habit going.

That's the secret to keeping good habits alive and growing.

Here are some bonus ideas for having fun on your journey back to the way you were.

Here are 2 PLAYLISTs of fun videos.

They helped me get toned and feel good right at home for free.

Movement is great medicine!

The trick is to find videos with moves and music you like,
search the web with Bing if needed
(because it's easier to preview videos using Bing).

Another trick is "make the moves your own" (do them your way, at your pace, make up your own moves even).

The MOST important trick is give yourself some time to get used to the idea and experiment and see what works for you. Be curious. Find what you like.

Here's what I found for me.

Some videos below are for doing seated, some are for doing standing.

I do different ones daily depending on my mood.

PLAYLIST 1

1 minute moves to start with,
they help create an appreciation for moving to feel good,
and help you realize you can sneak in fitness moves whenever you want to,
and that helps you learn to experiment and find what feels good for you.

PLAYLIST 2

5-10 minute moves

I modify the moves so they match my capabilities.

I also do my own variations of moves for more fun. I do whatever I feel like. I don't feel I have to copy them exactly or go exactly at their pace.

Some videos I even do sitting, even though they are standing (by modifying the moves as needed).

And some I do standing, even though they are sitting, like the Bollywood Zumba video, which is one of my favorites.
