I need help

I’m tired of holding this in. I’m tired of being afraid. I’m tired of not using my voice. I found out my relatives have been gaslighting me for many years. Even if they didn’t do it they knew about it. I told my truth which is not pretty but it’s the truth. I’m not perfect and I let things affect me negatively. I have done and said something’s I’m not proud of but so have all of you. I would never imagine not having a relationship with my family. With or without you I will continue to better myself.

I feel that sometimes, having negative people in your life that affect you in a bad way, need to fall off the pyramid of life. I think you just have to make sure that no matter who falls off or whatever height you have to climb, you never fall off. It’s not easy to drop family members but just ignore what they say if its really hurting you.

I don't appreciate my relatives much. They are hostile to me without any reason. So I can relate a little. You're not alone. We can have friends in the community who understand us better.

Thank you. It’s been really hard to make friends who don’t judge me for my past.

It's probably hard to imagine the idea of stepping away from family members but honestly- if they are toxic to you then you deserve to step away for a while and know what it feels like to be free. Sometimes we can't see how much they're controlling us until we do that and then we find the strength to say no more. Hang in there and it's OK to put yourself first.

Sometimes it is a matter of time, aging and from experience becoming self aware of who you are, what and why. For example, from a very young age my parents are deceitful and as a child, I was naturally gullible. From their deceitfulness, I grew up stand offish, unfriendly and didn't trust easily. Over time, I learnt how to deal with my parents and new all their manipulation tactics by the book. I also had come to predict their habits and actions it was easy for me to say what was needed ahead of time before they could even try with me. I understand the way I am because of them but I'm not going to let that get in the way of my happiness. Because I understand the what and why, I know how to deal with it, and as well as keeping my relationship intact (with conditions lol). They're not perfect though and you can learn a lot from the way they are to help yourself in future. Good luck and hope it works out.

Well I know this si no answer but , I too find myself in a gaslighting relationship, He uses hurtful words to make me because he is not working, I am working 2 jobs 😢 and he sent me 2 pics of him and my dog. I had the dd and the head nurse there, and all he could say was `you didn't even say anything about the pictures I sent you" I told him I just worked 28hrs and I wanted to get off my feet for 10 minutes , He started a fight didn't even asked if I needed anything. Then I started crying

It sounds like you know what’s best for you. Acknowledging the truth is the first step, so many don’t even see what’s happening until it’s too late. I hope you find the time and strength to let go of a situation that is holding you back from your true potential 🧡
