Is it wrong to feel jealous of my girlfriend and my brother who has down syndromes relationship?

I work a lot and I am his caregiver. 12 hour shifts sometimes nightly.  I am the only family he has so my girlfriend has been a godsend by helping me with him. She takes him to his classes, picks him up when I’m working sometimes and they hang out with her family and have their own little dates. He calls her sister and absolutely adores her.

When they talk if feels like she’s closer to him than to me. It’s so effortless and I can’t help but feel jealousy.

It's not wrong, you are human and we all feel the way we feel.

But rather than being jealous, I would be appreciative that I have such a wonderful caring gf, who cares enough to put so much effort into my brother, because most wouldn't 🩷

hello again. Didn’t we just resolve the staying at the motel issue?! Are you looking for a problem now? So being nice is a problem? :p I’m just joking please don’t take at heart. I think you are so in love, fell to your toes. She sounds like an incredible person. If she’s too close to him then let it be. He needs to have this connection in life. You both sound amazing. Enjoy the joy that has knocked your door.

@forcefulLychee4358 That's a completely fair emotion, and I'm sorry you've been struggling with this! Keep your head help high knowing that you taking care of your brother is something most people wouldn't be strong enough to do, and your girlfriend cares about you so much that she's willing to do the same thing and form a relationship with him. Try to spend some time together with the three of you and see if that helps!

It's ok to feel this, 💪emotions deserve listening ear , and we are here for you ✨️

(Trigger Warning: Advice ahead )

A date should help. Only both of you, and an environment suitable for emotional intimacy, like your bedroom with dim lights, warm blankets, plushies. If it's not your bedroom and you want to create an environment, then the guiding principles is that it should make you really comfy to slightly drowsy. ❤️This about YOU. ❤️ A safe space for your emotions🫂

When discuss this issue with her, preferably at the beginning, clarify that these are emotions you can't help feeling NOT emotions you plan to act on. If she is kind and supportive and cares for your brother, she will understand these  nuances. They are inevitable. If you vent to her, and she loves and supports you as hers, there will be no food for jealousy

I hope this helps ☺️
