Being a FRIEND
Hello, I'm a new member with this app. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for a free online therapy on the web. To start, I am currently having these moments that make me think that I am being an annoying friend for always sending daily messages to our friend group chat. Some days, my friends reply to my random messages or not. And I totally understand that because we are busy with our lives, especially that they are in university.
It also makes me sad that they cannot reciprocate the level of support that I give them, though I'm totally fine with that because I'm aware that their list of priority is not the same with mine. It's just that knowing that, makes me feel a little sorry for myself. Not only that, I'm also mad at myself for having these distrusting thoughts against one of my friends (Like, I am afraid that they might be telling her boyfriend some of the personal informations that I've been telling her) because I know that she is one of my trusted friends and that I am just overthinking.
Now, I'm in a dilemma on whether I should just continue the things that I am doing or start disconnecting myself from my phone or social media so I can do some silent reflections of myself because my mind is a mess.

It is hard sometimes when on a chat or group chat...... we may want to post every day to just kind of let them know i am there for anyone. For some busy with things they may not feel the need to respond every day or such and a person who does may seem needy as opposed to supportive. Just quit for a few days and see if someone notices and reaches out.... although we may feel it is ok they did not respond we many times do want to be acknowledged.
Every the a close friend can innocently share too much to someone in a relationship. If you feel this may have happened perhaps you need to only share what you have no issue if others found out.... sad but true very few people can and do keep confidences. I was badly burned by someone i thought was better then that once and it ended up making me see sharing something i do not want out may be best in a professional setting or anonymously in a listener type thing ....
Thank you for this and for sharing your experience. The part you said where we want to be acknowledged is quite true. I do feel that sometimes, like even a simple reply would ease my discomfort. I will do your advice and try and see if there will be people who will reach out to me. If not, then I guess I have to minimize my level so I wouldn't get burned out... Once again, thank you so much. Sending you virtual hugs as well 💗
That's a lot to deal with.
