Ghosted by friends of 9 years
I’ve been in a large friend group of girls since college. We lived together, partied together, studied abroad together and all lived in the same city after graduating. Over the years it’s been hard for everyone to stay in touch, but my I’m super close with two of the girls together and then another one separately.
The one girl is a little drama prone. Over the years she has picked sporadic fights with one girl or the other and it seems like she is always mad at one person and targets them. It’s been me before but she usually gets over it quickly. Well, I recently got engaged to my boyfriend of a year. Her boyfriend of 5 years proposed a few months later. Ever since he proposed she started being super cold. Then she just ghosted me. Didn’t respond to any of my texts individually or in the group chat for a month. I saw her at an event and she just said “nice to see you”. Very coldly.
it is so hard to process this loss and I don’t even know what I did wrong. I don’t want to beg for closure but I do know she’s going to exclude me from events with my other friends and that breaks my heart too. What do I do!!!?

A person who is into drama and causing issues between friends etc sounds like she wants attention ... and perhaps a bit jealous as well.... IF your BF proposed in 1 year and she has waited for 5 years .... she may feel your plans and engagement may steal her limelight ........ sounds like she has a real issue of thinking people are keeping score . she blames you for getting a proposal faster and right before hers .....maybe she feels a competition even if you don't.
Cut your losses & move on...that's what you do.
toughTiger already gave you the lowdown on the likely reason your "friend" turned cold so quickly; I see no reason to repeat it. IMNSHO, that girl sounds pretty selfish. With a friend like her, who needs enemies?
