I hate it when I lose friends.
I'm 45 and almost 46 now. I have always had a hard time making and keeping friendships going. Makes me wonder if there is something wrong with me. That feels awful because I know that I do the best I can. At least I feel like am doing the best I can. I really hate it when someone takes the time to befriend me, and then some years down the line decides to unfriend me. I'm like I tried to keep this thing going. I try to be kind, and generous etc. Yet it still dies.
The most frustrating part is that you know that you care. You know that you are trying, but the other person just doesn't see a need to hang onto you.

Hey I can't competely understand (because I am only 18) but I can empathize. Losing friends is hard especially when you struggle to make them in the first place. I have lost some both because of circumstance (people are busy and move) and because we both grew into different people who just don't mesh anymore.
Sorry I can't really give any advice but will send you some hugs and prayers!

I understand. It’s definitely tough. And you don’t know, but don’t blame yourself. You sound like a good friend. I can relate.
@gregariousGrapefruit7800 I feel like some people treat others as if they are something to help them achieve more. And when you are no longer useful to them, they just discard you like an object. I hope it catches up with those people.
Very true! You might be right. They have no regard for their feelings and usually a double standard
I just lost a someone I thought was my friend too. It's not easy, the thoughts that come up after something like this. Maybe they saw something in me that didn't align with them or maybe I wasn't putting in the same energy they felt they were putting into the friendship. Either way, they didn't stick around to try, to learn or grow the friendship into something beautiful, they chose to just let go. Now there's room for another friend to come along perhaps one that blossoms and becomes the kind of friendship that always lasts. Anyways, you're not alone.

yes yes yes yes! I am younger than you but I have lost so many friends and it’s always out of the blue to the point that I have a defective mindset about myself. The worst part is that I know I’m mature, kind, pretty, lovable and a great friend. But I can’t stop hating myself despite liking my actual personality. I’ve never found the answer! It’s SO frustrating and hard to love myself when others don’t.
