Many thanks for your forum post! 😊 ❤️ I'm more than happy to share some make up tips or tricks with you! I would have to say that I am highly feminine, I am a female, born as a female. I am a former professional model (not any of the social media, *** stuff). The bulk of my work has been runway and print adds (2 commercials for TV and I don't really count those, just not my fave work to do).
So, having said that, I guess I know my way around make up palettes, at least a little bit. Here we go....
One of the best things I like to do is curl my eyelashes. A good eyelash curler costs very little and is an integral part to any make up kit. I like to curl my eyelashes twice. First I curl them then I apply heat to the eyelash curler with a hair dryer and curl again. Great first step prior to applying any mascara.
For mascara, my favorites are Lancome or Loreal (less expensive) as interestingly enough, Lancome owns Loreal so many of the same ingredients and benefits. For day to day use, I go with a natural look and the tried and true mascara in the pink tube with the green top (Maybeline or Covergirl, can't remember who makes it) is just fine by me.
I like to apply a good moisturizer before applying foundation, base or even a primer (green tint if you are battling redness and purple if you have yellow undertones). It prepares the skin before any next steps and I like to give it a good 20 minutes to set before applying anything else to my face.
I enjoy using a lip liner. Oddly enough, applying foundation to the lips first, an application of powder, lip liner next and then your lipstick has a beautiful effect and provides staying power through out the day.
I am someone that enjoys fragrance. I like a layered effect. It can be good to moisturize first before applying fragrance and moisture is key to give any fragrance something to cling to. No moisture, fragrance dissipates. One of Marilyn Monroe's favorite tricks was applying vaseline first to areas before spraying perfume. While I have never tried that, it makes complete sense and is quite brilliant.
Paying special attention to nails is anything that could be nice for any gender. I enjoy pushing back cuticles from time to time. Solar Oil is a good product to keep the cuticle bed moisturized. Again, I go for a natural look for day to day and my current favorite is Probelle nail concealer in the shade of Moonlight Glow (2 coats). It is vastly different than nail polish and has added benefits of specific nutrients that are good for nails and cuticles.
For me, these are simply the basics for building a foundation for any look that you might like to achieve for day to day or for professional modeling.
