Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a good week. Here are some fun icebreakers to help us get to know each other :D

If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

What is one country you would love to visit and why?

If you could be fluent in one language instantly, which would it be and why?

Hello @SnailPurple and "General Support" ! I'm Platy :)

First! (haha) Attention: this is really long. You did ask to get to know us, right?

** If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

welll....... I must say first that I did scroll down to see if anyone else had answered yet. Because if I could only chose one dish... I wasn't sure if that was like one main 'dish' or a side or one meal (maindish and sides?). So... I would probably say either pasta or potatoes. Or maybe rice, but I like potatoes better. But here (my home, my country) that doesn't really count as like a full meal, so ... and as the age that I am, "for the rest of your life" could be a very long time! I might have to move to Idaho or Ireland :O Home of Potatoes hehe.

** What is one country you would love to visit and why?

One country I think would be absolutely lovely to visit is Switzerland! (and Austria is nearby = bonus!) Why? Do I get a nickel for every reason I can give that I would love to visit Switzerland!? I promise it would all go toward the trip :) One, it has mountains. While I am a cyan colored platypus here at 7cups, I am definitely a mountain-loving person IRL! Two, they have at least 3 official languages (or is it four?). This is very appealing because I could use my knowledge of languages with native speakers! which would be very fun. And I'll stop with reason three: mountains (oh I said that?) ... culture! I love learning about cultures: from music to food, from family relationships to how things go at work. Many things about (really any) culture different from my own are very exciting and interesting to me.

** If you could be fluent in one language instantly, which would it be and why?

For me, this one is very hard to answer. Mostly I suppose because I would hope for it to really happen so I would want all the details I could get before having my fluency in one language instantly. For me it would depend on if I could use it and how long the fluency knowledge would last. Factors in my decision would also include what is meant by "to be fluent" - for comprehension in speaking and listening, for the ability to read and write, or just one or two of those.

If I were given this as a 'wish,' I might chose something like Chinese or another language that m*a*n*y people speak and use daily but that I have close to zero knowledge of right now. For in that way, I might gain the most knowledge. But......... if I were to chose French or German, or any other language that I have some knowledge of but certainly not fluency... Well, I would probably be much more likely to actually use that 'gift of fluency' just based on my geographic location.

Currently accepting of most all "Free Hugs!", Platy

If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Biryani or prawns fried rice cuz I just LOVE rice! 🍚

What is one country you would love to visit and why?

I am a traveller and there are a lot of them but to name one I'd say Canada so that I could meet my little brother amid travel restrictions. ❤

If you could be fluent in one language instantly, which would it be and why?

This one is difficult for me as I love learning languages and have plenty of them on my to-do list such as Spanish, Arabic, Polish! 💜

1. If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life; what would it be?

I guess I'd have to say city chicken. It's a wonderful dish and I do love it. I have it occasionally when I can take the time to make it.

2. What is one country you would love to visit and why?

I would love to visit Germany. My Dad was stationed there five years after WWII and the runways were completely destroyed by us. The Air Force had been in existence for several years and they had no engineers. Since they were former Army Air Corps, they went back to the Army and asked for engineers. My Dad was placed in the unit called SCARWAF (Special Category Army With Air Force). He served in two different branches of the military at the same time. He rebuilt every runway in Germany that the Air Force uses to this very day. I would love to see my Dad's work as I am very proud of what he accomplished.

3. If you were fluent in one language instantly which one would it be and why?

It would be German. My Dad was German and fluent in that language. My paternal grandparents spoke nothing but German, and thus, I spoke German for the first five years of my life. Unfortunately, for me, my first grade teacher did not approve of me speaking a foreign language. I was punished for speaking it; and I quit talking in German not long after starting grade school.
